Learn to Manage Difficult Births
The Indiana Alpaca Association (IAA) invites you to attend an informative seminar and hands-on lab given by Dr. Cheryl DeWitt of Camelid Reproductive Services in Findlay Ohio. The morning lecture will cover reproductive anatomy and physiology, breeding and pregnancy diagnosis options, gestational development, care of the pregnant dam, normal and abnormal criation and care of the newborn as well as the high risk cria. The afternoon lab, using donated dead crias and uterine simulators, will challenge registrants to diagnose distocias (abnormal or difficult labor and delivery), discuss a proposed delivery plan and deliver the crias. The seminar is limited to 32 attendees and is highly recommended for beginning and experienced alpaca breeders alike.
