Many thanks to all of our TAO Volunteers who helped with the set-up and break-down for our High Holy Day services, to everyone who helped in the TAO office, to the Choir, Musicians, Ushers, Registration Desk, Transporters, and anybody who helped make High Holy Day services successful and meaningful.   "It Takes a Village" to make our High Holy Days the beautiful experience that they are, and we thank all of you for whatever part you played in our TAO village.

Chessed Commitee is
In Need of a Few Good Volunteers

For many moons, Arnie Welber has been doing most of the "heavy lifting" delivery of our food donations to Soref JCC for those less fortunate than ourselves.  The good news is that our food donations continue to grow with each Shabbat service...and we thank all for caring.  Arnie needs some help in the delivery department from Friday Shabbat Services and from Rosh Hashanah Services, so please get back to us with a commitment to share this job.  Call 954 753-7940 to volunteer.  Thanking you in advance for your service    Janice Weintraub, Chessed/Social Action Committee

Please  Donate Children's Clothes & School Supplies

TAO is collecting gently used clothing and school supplies - journal books, black and white notebooks, pencils, pens, folders, markers, crayons, glue sticks, loose leaf papers, lysol wipes and hand sanitzer- for kids at Susan Reisman's inner city school.  Clothing and school supplies are needed for both girls and boys through the eighth grade.  Please contact Sue Reisman by email at sue42754@yahoo.com

Please Sponsor An Oneg Shabbat

Celebrate your special occasion - birthday, anniversary, promotion - or say thank you or honor someone special by sponsoring a Friday night or Saturday Service Oneg Shabbat.  Full and partial sponsorships are possible.  Sponsorships can benefit your business as well  as it is publicized at the service and in our newsletter.  Rabbi Marc will personally acknowledge and thank you for your contribution.

Are you looking for a meaningful and joyous Shabbat? Look no further.

TAO (Temple Adath Or) is the South Florida Center for Jewish Renewal. We are a warm expression of joyful Judaism that brings Judaism to the 21st Century.

Jewish Renewal is about breathing life and meaning into Judaism. It is a return to the mystic roots of Abraham. It teaches that when we touch the Divine within and allow That to shine through us, we achieve a life of balance, harmony and loving kindness. In its essence, Renewal helps us to access the God within.

TAO services are filled with joy as we sing our way through Shabbat. Prayer, meditation and movement are always a part of everything we do.

Join us the first and third Friday of each month. Whether you are Jewish, non-Jewish or want to feel Jewish again, you will be touched by the depth, joy and connection you will feel at our Services.

TAO's Adopted Family

Through our support of the Touch A Heart Foundation, TAO has adopted a family whom we will try to offer visits and support during the coming year.

Our "adopted" family consists of a 63 year old grandma with custody of two grandsons, a 10 and 11 year old. Grandma has MS, and on a good day uses a cane. More often she requires a walker or wheelchair. Her greatest fear is losing her home which is the only home the boys have ever known and handicap accessible for her. Their only income at this time is Social Security.

As the holidays draw near, if you would like to make a donation towards food or holiday gifts for our adopted family, please contact the TAO office at 954-888-1408.

We plan to visit our family throughout the holidays and throughout the year. If you are interested in being a part of one of these visits, please let Renee know at 954-888-1408 or by email at Renee@TAOCenter.net. This is a wonderful mitzvah project and we hope each of you can participate in this mitzvah in some small or large way.

Meet Jewish Singles

Aleph, The Alliance for Jewish Renewal, has set up a place to meet singles. Simply go to Facebook.com. Search and then select Aleph-Alliance for Jewish Renewal. Then, near the top of the page, click the link: Aleph/Jewish Renewal Singles. Or click here to go to the singles page directly. Then click the "Like" button in the grey bar on the top of the page.

This is new to Aleph, so there are not many people who joined... yet. Be one of the charter members! There's no cost, and who knows, you might meet your soul mate. To meet people, just click on their names or pictures to learn more about them, and initiate contact with whomever you choose. Good luck... and have fun!

Smile!

Todays Parsha

Sep 27, 2012

11 Tishrei 5773

The spiritual ladder has four rungs on which you step into the four worlds of experience. The lower rung is the physical world.

The next is the emotional world, where dreams begin.  The third rung is the intuitive world, where imagination is sparked.  And on the fourth, you step into the world of pure emanation and light, where all things are possible.

Weekly Inspiration

" You are never alone. The Hebrew symbol for 1 'Alef' and the word for 1000 'Elef' are the same. Singularity indicates a multitude. 1 indicates 2. This is just an elaborate way of articulating our oneness. We are interconnected. You are never alone. "

Galia & Ocean Funds

In the spirit of Tzedakah, Paulina and Rabbi Marc set up two funds at TAO - a Galia fund and an Ocean fund. A portion of these funds is used to send toys and other needed items to Jewish and non-Jewish organizations that serve children, including Jafco.

When you share your sweetness to celebrate Galia's birthday (December 6) and Ocean's birthday (June 28) and other occasions, please donate to TAO instead of generously offering toys, clothing and other gifts. In this way, children will benefit from your sweet generosity.

Paulina and Rabbi Marc will be informed that you gifted their children and performed an act of Tzedakah in their honor.

Both Paulina and Rabbi Marc appreciate the health, toys and love their children have and want to give others the opportunity to share as well. To donate, Donate to Galia or Ocean fund for this tax deductible gift.
