Baby Sitting
Is available on Rosh Hashanah on Monday and Tuesday, and Yom Kippur on Wednesday. Please go to the second floor to sign in your child.
Children are Welcome
We are a child friendly congregation and love that you bring your children to temple on High Holy Days!
Children are welcome to pray, sing and dance with us. When we're sitting, please have children sit with you in a seat and not on the floor in the aisles due to safety regulations.

We have also become aware that Yizkor and the Rabbi's sermon do not enhance your children's experiences. To assure everyone has the most connected holy day, please step outside with your young children or take them to the babysitting room during Yizkor and sermons. Doors are closed during sermons, so please enter and leave prior to or following the sermon.

Tzedakah and Mitzvot
At this most holy of days and Teshuvah, show your concern for those less fortunate by bringing canned food for Rosh Hashanah and small Toiletries on Yom Kippur (shampoo, toothpaste, soap, etc.). There will be a drop-off area near the registration desks. God Bless you for helping those less able to help themselves.

Yom Kippur is distinguished by the Yizkor Memorial Service. In Yizkor (May He Remember) prayers, we ask Hashem to remember the souls of our loved ones who passed. These include primarily family members; husbands and wives, parents and grandparents, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, and children.

Whether you worship with us or not, we believe you wish to have a memory of your departed loved ones included in the
Yizkor Scroll of Remembrance book. Special prayers for those recorded are recited by the Rabbis. You may also have their names permanently inscribed on the gorgeous, memorial Yahrtzeit Plaque
New Heart to Hearts
Be sure to read our two new Heart to Heart messages in the lower right column.

Chessed Commitee is
In Need of a Few Good Volunteers

For many moons, Arnie Welber has been doing most of the "heavy lifting" delivery of our food donations to Soref JCC for those less fortunate than ourselves.  The good news is that our food donations continue to grow with each Shabbat service...and we thank all for caring.  Arnie needs some help in the delivery department from Friday Shabbat Services and from Rosh Hashanah Services, so please get back to us with a commitment to share this job.  Call 954 753-7940 to volunteer.  Thanking you in advance for your service    Janice Weintraub, Chessed/Social Action Committee

Please  Donate Children's Clothes & School Supplies

TAO is collecting gently used clothing and school supplies - journal books, black and white notebooks, pencils, pens, folders, markers, crayons, glue sticks, loose leaf papers, lysol wipes and hand sanitzer- for kids at Susan Reisman's inner city school.  Clothing and school supplies are needed for both girls and boys through the eighth grade.  Please contact Sue Reisman by email at [email protected]

Please Sponsor An Oneg Shabbat

Celebrate your special occasion - birthday, anniversary, promotion - or say thank you or honor someone special by sponsoring a Friday night or Saturday Service Oneg Shabbat.  Full and partial sponsorships are possible.  Sponsorships can benefit your business as well  as it is publicized at the service and in our newsletter.  Rabbi Marc will personally acknowledge and thank you for your contribution.

Bring a friend, your children and grandchildren!

hare the joy!

Are you looking for a meaningful and joyous Shabbat? Look no further.

TAO (Temple Adath Or) is the South Florida Center for Jewish Renewal. We are a warm expression of joyful Judaism that brings Judaism to the 21st Century.

Jewish Renewal is about breathing life and meaning into Judaism. It is a return to the mystic roots of Abraham. It teaches that when we touch the Divine within and allow That to shine through us, we achieve a life of balance, harmony and loving kindness. In its essence, Renewal helps us to access the God within.

TAO services are filled with joy as we sing our way through Shabbat. Prayer, meditation and movement are always a part of everything we do.

Join us the first and third Friday of each month. Whether you are Jewish, non-Jewish or want to feel Jewish again, you will be touched by the depth, joy and connection you will feel at our Services.

TAO's Adopted Family

Through our support of the Touch A Heart Foundation, TAO has adopted a family whom we will try to offer visits and support during the coming year.

Our "adopted" family consists of a 63 year old grandma with custody of two grandsons, a 10 and 11 year old. Grandma has MS, and on a good day uses a cane. More often she requires a walker or wheelchair. Her greatest fear is losing her home which is the only home the boys have ever known and handicap accessible for her. Their only income at this time is Social Security.

As the holidays draw near, if you would like to make a donation towards food or holiday gifts for our adopted family, please contact the TAO office at 954-888-1408.

We plan to visit our family throughout the holidays and throughout the year. If you are interested in being a part of one of these visits, please let Renee know at 954-888-1408 or by email at [email protected] This is a wonderful mitzvah project and we hope each of you can participate in this mitzvah in some small or large way.

Moses instructs Joshua and the people to focus on the words of this Torah, and leave them as a legacy to their children.

The freedom with which you breathe and the ease with which you  live is the energy that is passed from you to the next generation.  When all else dissipates in time, the energy you place into the world now lives on as part of your eternal legacy.

Galia & Ocean Funds

In the spirit of Tzedakah, Paulina and Rabbi Marc set up two funds at TAO - a Galia fund and an Ocean fund. A portion of these funds is used to send toys and other needed items to Jewish and non-Jewish organizations that serve children, including Jafco.

When you share your sweetness to celebrate Galia's birthday (December 6) and Ocean's birthday (June 28) and other occasions, please donate to TAO instead of generously offering toys, clothing and other gifts. In this way, children will benefit from your sweet generosity.

Paulina and Rabbi Marc will be informed that you gifted their children and performed an act of Tzedakah in their honor.

Both Paulina and Rabbi Marc appreciate the health, toys and love their children have and want to give others the opportunity to share as well. To donate, Donate to Galia or Ocean fund for this tax deductible gift.
