Join TAO in Giving Back To our Community Feb 19 - 24

In past years, TAO volunteers along with Rabbi Marc, have traveled to Haiti and Alabama to help with rebuilding the community after tragedies. This year from February 19th - 24th, we will be helping those in our own community who go to bed hungry every night, through out project - All-Fed. Please volunteer to join us in this mitzvah.

We are working with Expand the Love and Invigorate U, LLC to actualize this. We need volunteers for one to six days - two pick ups at a location and two drop offs at shelters per day. This should only take a few hours of your time. People work in teams of two or three and make only two pickups and deliveries each day. If you can commit to at least one day, please contact Val Salidker at [email protected]. Please let Val know that you are a TAO member and answer the following questions: 1. Preferred day or days you are willing to commit to (and a back-up date.) Please realize that if you make a commitment to be with us, we need you to honor that commitment or we will be short a driver/team member. 2. Your city or area so you can be matched up with another person and location near you. 3. Do you have someone who can be with you as a team or do you need to be partnered up? Who will be your partner? 4. Your contact email and phone number.

Let's expand the love to our local brothers and sisters.

About the Spa Day

It's a lazy Sunday... the whole day! You arrive and enjoy a bagel and coffee or tea and fruit. This year, there's a complimentary continental breakfast. Then you chill at Dottie's Stress-Melter (it's free - with almost all the packages). Your day starts beautifully. You're relaxed and being fed - in body and spirit.

You choose a massage, a mani/pedi (by the waterfall), a chiropractic scan (- NEW: read about it below), facial, or any of the other amazing services (fabulous list of Spa, and Health services and Consultations). Throughout the day, you pop into an aromatherapy or Tantra lecture, an Ayurveda or Make up consultation, or a Water Aerobic or QiGong class. Then you hang out by the pool or on the swing and relax some more. Ahhhhhh. You feel great.

WholeFoodsLogo
Lunch Sponsor

At noon, a scrumptious lunch, sponsored by Whole Foods is served. A buffet of organic fruits and veggies and other gourmet spa foods are spread out. You choose as many as you want to indulge in. And you go back as often as you wish.
At 4 pm, our charismatic Rabbi Marc leads a yoga and meditation session that is the perfect end to the perfect, perfect day.

Some people hang out a little longer luxuriating at the Wine & Cheese Chill (sponsored by Maria Daszkal and Elyn Zerfas). You depart smiling, having spent an amazing, relaxing day, treating your mind, body and soul to a well-deserved, five-star retreat, saying, "I can't wait to do this again next year."

On the way out, you take a Goody Bag filled with products and samples like Kiss My Face sun block, toothpaste; Nature's Gate body wash, lotion, shampoo, conditioner; EO shower gel, body lotion; Sonoma hand & body lotion, Topricin foot therapy cream, Lotus biscoff spread, Mediterranean Snack Food lentil chips and crackers... and there will be more!

You can't believe you waited so long to sign up. It is an amazing day... And it's less than a month away.

Bring a friend, your children and grandchildren!

S
hare the joy.

Are you looking for a meaningful and joyous Shabbat? Look no further.

TAO (Temple Adath Or) is the South Florida Center for Jewish Renewal. We are a warm expression of joyful Judaism that brings Judaism to the 21st Century.

Jewish Renewal is about breathing life and meaning into Judaism. It is a return to the mystic roots of Abraham. It teaches that when we touch the Divine within and allow That to shine through us, we achieve a life of balance, harmony and loving kindness. In its essence, Renewal helps us to access the God within.

TAO services are filled with joy as we sing our way through Shabbat. Prayer, meditation and movement are always a part of everything we do.

Join us the first and third Friday of each month. Whether you are Jewish, non-Jewish or want to feel Jewish again, you will be touched by the depth, joy and connection you will feel at our Services.

Parking

To keep the ability to enjoy services at the Rabbi's home, please follow this parking procedure:

At the Rabbi's house, an attendant will give you a handout with the places you may park. Rabbi Marc did a lot of work to secure parking places acceptable to his development's Board and the City. We must heed the allotments and not park elsewhere.

Please respect the neighbors if they should ask you to move your car or not park in their swale - even if they previously gave permission to park there. By being respectful of their wishes, we assure fewer problems in the future.

TAO's Adopted Family

Through our support of the Touch A Heart Foundation, TAO has adopted a family whom we will try to offer visits and support during the coming year.

Our "adopted" family consists of a 63 year old grandma with custody of two grandsons, a 10 and 11 year old. Grandma has MS, and on a good day uses a cane. More often she requires a walker or wheelchair. Her greatest fear is losing her home which is the only home the boys have ever known and handicap accessible for her. Their only income at this time is Social Security.

As the holidays draw near, if you would like to make a donation towards food or holiday gifts for our adopted family, please contact the TAO office at 954-888-1408.

We plan to visit our family throughout the holidays and throughout the year. If you are interested in being a part of one of these visits, please let Renee know at 954-888-1408 or by email at [email protected]. This is a wonderful mitzvah project and we hope each of you can participate in this mitzvah in some small or large way.

Meet Jewish Singles

Aleph, The Alliance for Jewish Renewal, has set up a place to meet singles. Simply go to Facebook.com. Search and then select Aleph-Alliance for Jewish Renewal. Then, near the top of the page, click the link: Aleph/Jewish Renewal Singles. Or click here to go to the singles page directly. Then click the "Like" button in the grey bar on the top of the page.

This is new to Aleph, so there are not many people who joined... yet. Be one of the charter members! There's no cost, and who knows, you might meet your soul mate. To meet people, just click on their names or pictures to learn more about them, and initiate contact with whomever you choose. Good luck... and have fun!

Smile!

Shmuel Gabbai, 36. I take out the Torah Saturday morning. Would like to take you out Saturday night.  Please write.

Wisdom by Rabbi Shoni

You will notice that stories of courage usually take place during trying times, when people of vision refused to give up their dreams of a benevolent people in a world of holiness. Stories of courage start with one person who kindles the light within him-or herself, before sparking hope and faith in others.

CarpoolPeople from Miami to Aventura to Boca to Palm Beach want to attend TAO Services and Wisdom Class and are unable or uncomfortable driving. If you will take someone with you, please email us, and we'll update the list to help make it easy for everyone to attend and participate in our events.

Plus, it's the green thing to do! Carpooling conserves gas and offers the opportunity to enjoy your TAO friends at the same time. Click here for list of people offering rides.

Galia & Ocean Funds

In the spirit of Tzedakah, Paulina and Rabbi Marc set up two funds at TAO - a Galia fund and an Ocean fund. A portion of these funds is used to send toys and other needed items to Jewish and non-Jewish organizations that serve children, including Jafco.

When you share your sweetness to celebrate Galia's birthday (December 6) and Ocean's birthday (June 28) and other occasions, please donate to TAO instead of generously offering toys, clothing and other gifts. In this way, children will benefit from your sweet generosity.

Paulina and Rabbi Marc will be informed that you gifted their children and performed an act of Tzedakah in their honor.

Both Paulina and Rabbi Marc appreciate the health, toys and love their children have and want to give others the opportunity to share as well. To donate, Donate to Galia or Ocean fund for this tax deductible gift.
