9:15 am Welcome 9:30 am - 10:30 am Infection Control Updates including Federal & State Agency Regulations Presented by Leslie Roste, RN This interactive presentation will review critical infection control updates that will affect your current lesson plans. Understanding the principles of infection control procedures is no longer sufficient when setting the curriculum. Overview of Federal government agencies such as OSHA, EPA and the CDC, whose regulations supercede state regulatory boards will be outlined. Updates to state mandates and what should be updated and regulated in the near future will also be explored. At the conclusion of the presentation the teacher will be able to: - Define infection control procedures

Leslie Roste, RN, BSN graduated from the University of Kansas, where she studied Nursing and Microbiology. She has worked in various nursing positions including Obstetrical Nursing and Infection Control in the Kansas City area. She has written many articles, edited multiple textbooks and spoken on Infection Control in the work environment, specializing in the salon and spa industry. Warfield is a 31-year esthetician, is NCEA Certified, holds both CIDESCO and ITEC diplomas and worked for over 13 years in a dermatology practice in New York city. Judith Culp, CIDESCO, NCEA Certified and CPCP, has lectured at local, state and national events and contributed to numerous trade publications over the past three decades as well as maintain a private practice and educating. She is the Contributing Editor Milady Standard Esthetics: Advanced First and 2nd Edition Textbooks. Her school offers a 1200-hour esthetics program. 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Motivating the Student-It Starts with the Teacher Presented by Traci Daly Teachers have a lot to do with their students' motivational level. A student may arrive in class with a certain degree of motivation. But the teacher's behavior and teaching style, the structure of the course, the nature of the assignments and informal interactions with students all have a large effect on student motivation. Traci Daly an NCEA Certified esthetician. She has been an esthetics instructor at the Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics, a division of Atlanta School of Massage, since 2005. In addition to her duties as an instructor, Daly managed Lulu, a day spa, for six years beginning in 2002. Her professionalism and skills as an esthetician supported the spa's ongoing success.
