If you are a Licensed Esthetician who is NCEA Certified, you may apply for the "Master Esthetician Manager License" in the District of Columbia. The methods for becoming licensed in the District of Columbia are outlined below. The one letter code/abbreviation for each origin is indicated in parenthesis. Write the correct origin code and description on the "Method (Origin) of Application" line in section one of your new license application.
Waiver of Exam - Master Esthetician Manager Only (see page 3 of the instructions) Hold a Cosmetology license in good standing in another state/jurisdiction with standards that are comparable to DC's requirements; and must provide proof from your original state or jurisdiction of successful completion of the NIC national examination. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR MASTER ESTHETICIAN MANAGER APPLICANTS (by Waiver) 1. If you are applying by Other (waiver of exam) for Master Esthetician Manager license, you must request a current National Coalition of Estheticians, Manufactures/Distributors & Association (NCEA) certification; submit it with your application directly to Pearson VUE. Pursuant to 17 DCMR § 3703.24 Esthetician Operators, Cosmetology Operators, and Specialty Cosmetology Managers who have been providing services or managing a shop that provides services which must now be provided by and supervised by individuals who possess a master esthetician license must obtain a master esthetician manager license no later than two (2) years (January 8, 2012) from the date this section was published in the D.C. Register as a final rulemaking
on January 8, 2010. SECTION 9.
