On behalf of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, NCEA would like to inform you about the availability of the Small Business Job Creation Tax Credit.
Until June 30th, businesses and non-profits may be eligible for the $2,500 credit against withholding taxes. Small businesses and non-profits with 50 or fewer employees may be eligible for the credit for any position they create between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. The position must pay at least $10 per hour, or the equivalent of $18,200 annually.
Any-sized business or non-profit may be eligible for the credit if they hire a former worker- trainee from our recent "Put Illinois to Work" program. More than 26,000 people received valuable on- the-job training through "Put Illinois to Work."
The success of our small businesses and workers is vital to Illinois' continued economic recovery, and supporting entrepreneurship and innovation is one of my top priorities. We are utilizing all of our communication channels and appreciate your help in getting the word out as well.
