May 2, 2011E-Update
Souderton Telford Main Streets

Dear Reader,

Today, we have so much to share.  Do we look back on some amazing activities that happened in April or do we rush ahead to the busy month of May?

Let's do both.

History in the Making

Local History
freight businessThe team working on the Arcadia Book are diligently (frantically) working on the captions for the photos.

It has been amazing how many people have opened their doors and their family albums for this project. The challenge is sorting through the thousands of photos to narrow it down to tell a story.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project. I know you will be proud when you see the book when it arrives this fall.

By the way, we have seen the cover and it looks fabulous!
Update on the Return of Passenger Service

The Train is Coming....
SEPTAAlthough we will not see passenger service in Souderton or Telford in the near future, we have cleared the biggest hurdle to date

An alternative plan for this line has finally qualified for the federal government program, New Starts/Small Starts. Of course, with the poor fiscal health of our state and federal government, we have no idea when funding will be available for these programs.

Don't get discouraged. The public meetings were very upbeat and the alternatives interesting to consider.

Go to the website for the project and see the presentation, display boards and fact sheet for yourself.
