Classic Italian Dinner with Main Streets
The weather is finally blessing us with calm weather and safe roads on the night of our event.

Thursday, February 10, we will finally be holding the Classic Italian Dinner with Main Streets at Caruso's.

Judging from the enthusiastic response we received when we called everyone who had a reservation for the original date, we are going to have a great time at this event.

Several people had to cancel their reservations due to a conflict but we still have a wonderful group of supporters attending.

The donations are mind-boggling. Wine for raffling, gifts for door prizes and baskets for silent auctions. You have a very good chance of taking home a treasure or two from a local business or Main Street supporter.

We still have seats available at both meals.
You really don't want to miss this night of fun and fund-raising.

If you are planning to attend, please call Caruso's at 215.799.1312 to make your reservation.

We will have tickets available at the door for both seatings but we cannot guarantee seats at the 5pm dinner without a reservation.

Prepay for your ticket and you will receive an extra door prize ticket. Get all the details at our website.   Now call Caruso's and make your reservations, ASAP!

search and scan action

The treasure hunt for photos for the Arcadia book has begun.

The first Search and Scan went well for a rainy, cold Saturday morning. These sessions are open for the public to bring in their photos to be scanned and the stories to be recorded.

The next Search and Scan will be held on Saturday, February 19 at the Main Street office at 18 Green Street. Volunteers will be on hand from 10 am until 1pm to work with people sharing their treasures.

The Indian Valley Public Library has an interesting and fun fundraiser coming up called Goofy Golf  IN the Library.

You can get all the details about this event at the website.

Linda Beck sent us an email with the following request:

"We are still in need of sponsors for this event.  It would be a great chance for businesses to promote themselves -- hole sponsors pay $250, get two tickets to the event, AND get to decorate their mini-golf hole with company stuff and/or leave promotional flyers to be picked up by golfers."

If you want to learn more about how your business can benefit by sponsoring this event, please contact Linda Beck by email or phone at 215.723.9109.

The First Lady of the State of Pennsylvania, Susan Corbett,  is issuing an invitation to artists to submit their work for

a juried competition called "Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2011."

The competition will run from June 19 to Sept. 11 at the state Museum in Harrisburg and artists can compete in five categories: painting, works on paper, photography, sculpture and crafts.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the established or emerging artist to exhibit their work and receive statewide recognition," Mrs. Corbett said in a statement.

At stake is $7,000 in cash prizes and judges include officials from the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts in Wilmington, Del., The Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston, and the Lehigh University Art Galleries.
