| E-Update Souderton Telford Main Streets
|
|
Dear Reader,
The Univest Grand Prix is over. We are still smiling about the weather and the new race course. If you have any suggestions on how next year's event can be improved, send an email and we will include it when we hold a wrap-up meeting in October.
Hat's off to Bob Brecker of Brecker Media and John Ralston of Sitecats for all their work with Sparta Cycling on creating an amazing social media hit for the Grand Prix. This year was the test run and it will really grow next year.
They had a live feed of text messages, tweets and Facebook on our website that enabled communication between race officials, spectators, volunteers and viewers from as far as Sweden. The numbers were outstanding for all our media that day.
A-1 Pharmacy will be opening this week on West Broad Street in Souderton. They are finalizing paperwork and approvals from insurance companies. Consequently, when they let us know the specific day they will be opening, we will post it on our Facebook page.
It's that time of year- the online Souderton Holiday Parade registration is open. We already have about 8 registration forms. Some groups are fabulous about planning out their year's activities.
The Parade's theme this year is "Classic Towns, Classic Christmas." We hope that the weather is clear so we can include a lot of antique and classic cars and trucks in the parade this year. You know they won't come out if anything is falling from the sky.
As we head into fall, the list of ongoing projects just grows. In October, look for information on a meeting to review the draft of the 2010 Souderton Telford Revitalization Plan. You input is needed on that project.
STMS will conducting a fundraising campaign to continue our focus on revitalizing your communities. Watch your mailbox for information. We will also launch an online donation campaign.
In the next issue, I will have details about a couple of awards that Souderton Borough and Souderton Telford Main Streets will receive in October and November.
Oh, yes. Telford Borough is looking for a tree they can use for the Borough's Tree Lighting Ceremony. Call the borough at 215-723-5000 and talk to Gary Yoder if you have an evergreen that may work.
