June 26, 2010 E-Update
Souderton Telford Main Streets

Dear Reader,

June has flown by. The Concert Sundaes have started, the Indian Valley Farmers' Market starts on Saturday and the Soapbox Derby came and went.

Telford and STMS won a very prestigious award for the Marketplace at Telford Station from 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania for a project that had an immense impact on the community. Read the story on their website!

Our chairman, Jeff Gross, and I made a well-received presentation at the Pennsylvania Downtown Center's state Community Revitalization Conference last week in Lancaster.

We talked about zoning, ordinances and creating a sustainable downtown. Loads of questions from the audience as they saw how they could also make a local impact.

We were awarded a grant to launch a public art project to make people aware of our many big community events.

We are looking for businesses and individuals to partner with us to wrap traffic control boxes with artwork to promote events such as Concert Sundaes, Univest Grand Prix and the Souderton Holiday Parade. Call the office for details: 215-723-6627.

Some days, I feel like I sit in the middle of a whirlwind. Then I realize it is the energy from all the amazing volunteers as they carry on with different projects.

Check out the videos that Bob Brecker has put on our Facebook pages and websites for one example of our amazing, creative, energetic volunteers!

Do I have the world's best job or what?

The Inbox is overflowing with news to share. Let's get started!

1939 Hollywood is abuzz.  The greatest movie in history has script troubles and movie mogul David O. Selznick is bleeding a fortune.  Five days, he figures, is all he has before his goose is cooked.

But he's got Hollywood's best rewrite guy, Ben Hecht; he's got big-time director Victor Fleming; he's got a typewriter; he's got a supply of bananas; and he's got the key to the office door.

No one's going nowhere until the script is fixed!  Ron Hutchinson's thrilling and hilarious play captures the true life madness behind the scenes of Gone with the Wind.

Is Your Business on the List?

It's Free!
google map logo
One of our spring projects is the creation of Google maps with different categories.

Bob Brecker has already started the restaurant map. It is missing several restaurants because he was using our online business guide to find the information he needed.

Check to make sure your business is listed. You also want to make sure the Google listing for your business is up-to-date and accurate. We will be using both sources for the data to market our communities.

It's free. Why would you want to miss these opportunities to drive traffic to your business? Call the STMS office if you need help.
