January 29, 2010 E-Update
Souderton Telford Main Streets

Dear Reader,

January is nearly over and it has been amazing.

We had 63 people turn out for the Revitalization Planning Meeting.  Normally, these meetings get 5-10 people in other communities. Not in Souderton and Telford!

The community involvement is what makes working here so much fun!

We will be posting the draft of the goals and objectives in the next few weeks. Keep checking our website. It will be on the front page.

We completed our state assessment this week. We toured the towns with the representative from PA Downtown Center to show her what we are working on. She reminded us how fortunate we are to have so many great projects underway.

Many projects look dormant when you drive by but teams are working away behind the scenes. For example, we are working with Souderton Borough to gain control of the Souderton Rail buildings and parking. We are also researching grants to fund the work to redo them in the same manner as the Telford Rail buildings.

Teams are also working on the Broad Theater, the former High School site and several other projects.

The economy may be bleak but both Souderton and Telford will be ready when it improves!

Sincerely,

Pam Coleman

Roundtable on Tuesday, February 9, 2010

You never know who will be there
Apple Orchard CafeWe are headed to the Apple Orchard Cafe at the Souderton Mennonite Home for the Business Roundtable in February.

When it is cold and blustery outside, there is nothing nicer than comfort food and warm company.

The Business Roundtable is an opportunity to meet and network with fellow business people in Souderton. Just when we start to question the value of these luncheons, we watch a connection being made that benefits the attendees.

So we bring information on a variety of projects, opportunities and other good gossip to share and watch the magic happen.

RSVP to Erika so she can arrange for enough seating for everyone!

Final Weekend to Complete the Online Survey!

Back by Popular Demand
Many people did not have time over the holidays to complete the online survey. Consequently, it has been re-opened for your convenience

If you have not already done so, please complete the survey and tell us what you think.

The staff from the Montgomery County Planning Commission staff will continue to gather and analyze the data for the Committee working on the 2010 Souderton Telford Revitalization Plan.

We will post the results on the Souderton Telford Main Streets website in February. We will let you know through this email when it is ready!

In the mean time, remind your friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members to complete the survey if they care at all about the two towns.
