Dear Reader,
I frequently joke about not keeping up with our volunteers. This Saturday's festival is a good example of the amazing ideas they just keep generating.

July is traditionally a quiet month with so many people away on vacation. This July is the month of staycations. Stay in town and enjoy the best of times.

We only need another 589 votes to make it into the top 5 highest vote winners!
Field to Table Food Festival
From the fields of the Indian Valley Farmers' Market to the tables of the local restaurants, this Saturday's festival promises to delight the senses.

We will also be hosting a number of local community groups as they share information, raise funds for worthy causes and entertain the kids.

berries boxedThe Berried Treasures Contest will be very entertaining if everyone who said they would compete truly show up. You know who you are!

You can still download the paperworkand participate. The prizes look great!

The day begins with the usual start time for the Indian Valley Farmers' Market at 8:30 am. The restaurants and community groups will be set up and ready by 10 am. The festivities run through 3 pm. Rain or shine.

B101 will be on hand for a portion of the day to share the music. Univest sponsored the collectible postcards for both the festival and the Market. Souderton Independent provided the print advertising this week and Sitecats sponsored all the details that everyone forgets.

The highlight of this festival is what we cannot schedule, organize or anticipate. It is all the fun everyone has in seeing friends, family and neighbors out having a great time at the Marketplace at Telford Station.

So many people stop to thank the STMS volunteers for all the work they put into the Festival and the Market that they forget all the headaches and start thinking about how to make it better the next year.
More Fun on Saturday!
Before you come to lunch at the Field to the Table Food Festival, stop by the Souderton Community Park at the Flea Market and Craft Sale from 8 am to 1 pm. This is a fundraiser sponsored by Perseverance Volunteer Fire Company's No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary.

They are still welcoming vendors at $20 per table or $25 without a table. For information or to reserve a table, call 215-721-1345. This is another rain or shine event.
One Last Activity for Saturday Afternoon
Fully committedThe Montgomery Theater has added an extra performance of "Fully Committed" to the schedule.  If you don't have a ticket to this show yet, call or go to their website to order your ticket for the 3pm show on Saturday, July 11.

We were amazed to see one actor on stage become 40+ different characters. His comedic timing is a true wonder. This show is well worth seeing.
Business Roundtable a Fresco
This time of year, the Business Roundtable group loves to eat outside. In July, we will be dining under the canopy at the Caboose Grille.

If the Design Committee will let us borrow the plans, we will bring the original 1926 plans for the Souderton Train Station that we recently uncovered in the state archives.

The Design Committee is starting the planning to recreate their success in Telford at the Souderton Station and rail buildings. The original plans are fascinating.

So put Tuesday, July 14 at 12:30 pm on your calendar and RSVP to Erika that you will be joining us for the July Business Roundtable.
Market is Open Every Saturday Now!
IVFM logoThe Indian Valley Farmers' Market is open every Saturday now through October. The selection of vendors is varied so each week is special.

You can count on traditional favorites, Windy Spring Farms and Ray's Greenhouse, as well as new favorites like Country Creek Winery and Rising Sun Coffee Roasters. We also have a good selection of bakers with a variety of specialties.

Great news for 2009-- Nita Baker is BACK!  She missed us and with her mom serving as Market Manager, Anita is glad to be back at the Indian Valley Farmers' Market. Stop by for some of her world famous stromboli and tell her how much you missed her.

Each week we will have something special to make your visit memorable. Watch the website for details.

a delicous dinner and a sweet ending.

Attention Tourist-Ready Businesses!
We still have an opportunity to join forces to promote tourism in Souderton and Telford.

The Valley Forge Convention and Visitor Bureau has an opportunity for businesses within the borough that are visitor-ready and visitor-attractive to join the CVB at a reduced amount-$50- to participate in a multi-layer program.

The Visitor Guide will be going into production in early July, so we need to get anyone interested in participating signed up as soon as possible. You don't want to miss having your business listed in this publication. They print and distribute 400,000 to people who want to visit Montgomery County.

This article has more details and the forms that you need to complete.

Too many meetings, too many projects. I did not get this out in time to remind everyone to stop by the Moyer 5-K on Wednesday evening. They always run a memorable and worthwhile event!
