Send Us Your Good News!

Please pass along good news about your business or organization.

We love to showcase the many successful businesses and organizations throughout the two boroughs.

Send us special events, professional recognitions, awards from professional associations, fund-raisers for non-profits and anything else you think the readers of this email would appreciate.

Thank you for reading this newsletter and sharing your news with the other readers who care about our two communities.

It is that time of the year when we see an explosion of events and news to share. Normally we try to do one email blast a month with a second one on busy months.

This is the third one, if you count the sad news of the last email. Please understand that we do not want to flood your inbox with fluff- only news you can use.

We still encourage you to send us news about your business for our website and this newsletter. We love to share good news!

  • Open House
  • Edward Jones Ribbon Cutting

Make a note to stop by the Open House at the new Edward Jones office at 210 N. Main Street in Souderton on Wednesday, March 18 starting at noon.

Greg McGovern and Joan Scheetz will be happy to show you all that has been done to the former vacuum cleaner store to accommodate their professional office. The conversion has made a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

As we look through old photos, it is so good to see how the buildings and businesses have upgraded their appearances over the past few years. The cumulative effect is remarkable.

Thank you, Greg McGovern and Edward Jones for investing in downtown Souderton.

  • Homemaker's Country Quilters
  • Quilt Pic

Ruth Senese, owner of Ruth & Co., asked that we share this information about the upcoming 4-H quilt show.

Showcase of Quilts XIII will be held on March 20 & 21, 2009. The hours are Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. It will be held at the Montgomery County 4-H Center, Route 113, one mile south of route 73 in Creamery, Pa. Admission is a donation of $5.

Ruth's mother and sister are both participating and the photo is from her mother's quilt. All proceeds will benefit the Montgomery County 4-H program.

  • Eat Chocolate and Help Others
  • Who really needs an excuse to eat good chocolate? The Telford Boy Scout Troop #214 is running a summer camp fundraiser to go to Assateague Island and Williamsburg, Va. They are counting on your weakness for good chocolate to raise enough for their trip.

You can purchase your Easter Candy at Ruth and Company at 27 South Front Street in Souderton. This is no ordinary chocolate but Bergin's Chocolate from West Point.

Check out the coconut creams, butter creams, chocolate covered pretzels, solid bunnies and boxes of assorted candies. Ruth has them in the retail section of her salon inside the front door. Stop by before March 30 to help the Boy Scouts and thank Ruth for being so generous!

  • Don't forget to Vote!
  • The ballots are available in the Souderton Independent and online. Let's remind everyone of the great businesses we have right here in Souderton and Telford!

  • Souderton Memorabilia
  • Souderton poster 2009

The link to the school district was very popular with the email about getting involved with the final day to view the high school. Since then, we have received the direct link to the memorabilia page.

  • Energy Efficient Homes
  • Pennsylvania is stepping up its efforts to help more families cut their energy bills by expanding efforts to make energy conservation and efficiency measures more affordable for households.

If you are considering work on your home to insulate your home, seal off drafts, or install high efficiency heating and cooling systems, geothermal heat pumps, and ENERGY STAR -qualified windows and doors, you should check out the loans and rebate programs from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Applications and program guidelines are available at www.keystonehelp.com. The deadline for applications is June 30. For more information on funding programs through the Alternative Energy Investment Fund, visit the PA Department of Environmental Protection.
