Please note that we still need volunteers for the morning of the parade. The more volunteers we have, the easier it will be to handle the massive number of parade units.

Call the Main Street office at 215-723-6627 or email through Friday to volunteer.

We will have to opportunities to hand out assignments. The first is a volunteer meeting at 7 pm on Thursday (tonight) at the Main Street office at 18 Green Street in Souderton.

The second opportunity will be at breakfast on Saturday for final assignments. We will meet at 8 am at Main Street Java for breakfast and warmth.

  • The Biggest Holiday Parade Ever
  • Parade 2004

The Souderton Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 6 will start at 11 am and should last at least two hours. 91 units have registered as of Wednesday evening with two more days to go.

Bundle up the family and come enjoy the amazing variety of floats, horses, alpacas, dignitaries, churches, scouts, tractors and tractor trailers.

This is the 50th Anniversary of the parade and the community has pulled out all the stops to participate.

Thanks to Univest, we have a budget that will allow advertising in the Reporter, The Souderton Independent, The Intelligencer and the Penny Power.

The Morning Call listed our parade as one of the top ten places to see Santa in an article on the front page of the Sunday Entertainment section!

Of course, we will have free hot dogs and hot chocolate at the end of the parade, thanks to the North Penn Goodwill.

  • Tree Lighting in Telford
  • Take a performance of excerpts of the Nutcracker by students of the Barn Studio of Dance, music provided by B101 from Philly, a Christmas tree in a new tree stand over the new fountain, toss in some Christmas carols, hot cider and Santa and what do you get? A new tradition in Telford.

To top it off, Santa will light the tree and visit with the kids. Bring your camera and join us at 7 pm on Friday, December 12 at the Marketplace at Telford Station.

  • A True Holiday Tradition
  • Christmas Present

For the past 18 years, the community has supported Telford Borough Police Department's efforts to give back to less fortunate in our community.

The Jessica Leshinskie Memorial Holiday Food and Gift Drive is accepting donations of dry and canned foods, gift cards, unwrapped children's gifts and monetary donations.

All donations will be distributed throughout the local community with 100 percent of all monetary donations going to the families. For information, call 215-723-6700.

Better yet, bring your donation to the Telford Tree Lighting and make it a family holiday tradition to give to others!

  • Santa Sightings
  • Santa will be available for photos from 9 am until 1 pm at The Store at Moyer & Son Inc. 113 E. Reliance Road, Souderton on Saturday, December 6.

Parents have an opportunity to have their children and/or pets photographed with Santa. Parents will receive a free photo to take home.

  • Business Roundtable for December
  • turkey dinner

With all the excitement of the parade, we must not forget the December Business Roundtable.

We will be meeting at Caruso's Trattoria on Main Street in Souderton at 12:30 on Tuesday, December 9.

Enjoy the good food and the sparkling conversation of the local business people who attend this monthly networking event.

Please RSVP to Erika so we can give them an accurate count!

  • "A Royal Pick-Me-Up"
  • That is the title of the 8-page spread about our favorite Souderton Tea Room in the winter Montgomery County Town and Country magazine. Pick up a copy of the magazine and read about Tilly Mint Tea Room and its owner, Trish Stubbs.

The photo shoot was done last summer. Everyone had to bundle up as if it were winter. Trish decorated for Christmas and made her luscious foods. The photographer captured the beauty of the food and warmth of the tea room.

Don't miss this wonderful publicity for the Tea Room and Souderton!

  • Main Street Java Also Has Special Events
  • Enjoy Acoustic Guitar with James Lauchmen on Friday, Dec 12, 2008 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

James Lauchmen is a local musician who performs cover pieces of James Taylor, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton and many more on the second Friday of the month.

Check out the website for more details.

  • Congratulations to Edward Jones!
  • The Edward Jones office has relocated to 210 N. Main Street in Souderton from their former offices on Broad Street. They have increased their office size substantially by moving into the former CJ Miller building.

Greg McGovern has been so excited about this move to a more visible location.

Watch this email for information as we help him celebrate this move.

  • Souderton Historic District
  • If you see someone photographing your building or making notes about it, say hello to Shelby or Chris from Keystone Preservation Group. They are preparing the nomination form for our application for a National Historic District. They are doing the research phase now. In January, we will be holding public meeting to gather more information, answer questions and explain why an historic district is important.

  • Breakfast Location Changed for Saturday
  • Main St. Java Sign

Anyone helping with the Holiday Parade, please note that breakfast at 8 AM has been moved to Main Street Java. We have too many people for our original location. See you on Saturday morning at 8 am before we go to our assigned locations to coordinate the parade.
