Filed to the table Food Festival at the Indian Valley Farmers' Market Saturday, July 12, 2008 10 am to 4 pm

With the warm weather making everything blossom, we have a list of good ideas for getting out and about.

  • Ribbon Cutting
  • Melodia Cafe

Wednesday, April 30 at 12:30pm, the Economic Restructuring Committee will be doing a ribbon cutting at Melodia Grill. This is the new restaurant located on East Broad Street next to Cumberland Farms.

They are still working on a final menu and training the new staff. They are so focused on doing everything perfect that they are doing the quietest of soft openings.

if you are looking to be neighborly and not judgmental, stop by to sample their food and coffee. if you are looking for perfection, wait about a month and be surprised at our newest fine dining in town.

Their Grand Opening will be held later in May.

  • Main Street Java expanding hours
  • Main St. Java Sign

Just when you want an iced coffee after dinner, Jesse and Heidi Corbett are extending their hours to the evening.

Starting this week, Main Street Java will be open from 6 am to 6 pm Monday and Tuesday, 6 am to 9 pm on Wednesday through Friday and from 7 am to 9 pm on Saturday.

They are still expanding and experimenting with their menu. Stop in and see what is new!

  • Community Partners
  • Grace Community Church will be hosting a discussion group at Main Street Java on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm through May 28th.

All are welcome to attend. Main Street Java will remain open for food and coffee. What a cool cross promotion!

  • What is happening in Telford?
  • Assou

Yes, that is Assou Lhedmat and his wife hanging out at the table in front of the Telford Train Station. He is supervising the contractors as they finish up the work needed to put a restaurant in the station.

Rough estimate is about another four weeks before he opens Assou's Bistro for business. Watch your email for the news when he is ready to welcome everyone. The ribbon cutting will be memorable!

  • And the Other Building?
  • Telford Treats by the Tracks is awaiting final approvals from SEPTA before they can start installing all the equipment.

Once he has the necessary approvals, his installation should go quickly. We are all hungry to try his Irish Ice and ice cream and donuts and funnel cakes and . . .

    We will keep you posted.

  • Arts and Culture
  • If you want a peak at the wonderful artists that we have in the region, check out the Elephant's Eye Bucks County Artist Studio Tour on May 8-11 and May 17-18.

The designer who is updating our Indian valley Farmers' Market website alerted me to this interesting event. Learn more at www.elephantseyetour.org for more information.

  • New to the Festival
  • We have invited over 100 local non-profit organizations to join in the fun of the Field to the Table Food Festival. They can reserve a space for $25 for the day. That reservation fee will be refunded to any group that provides 5 volunteers for set up or tear down of the festival.

The groups can do fund-raising, raise awareness, host kids activities and have fun. We just ask that they do not do a food- related fund raiser since we will have so much food already.

    Learn more at www.ivfm.org.

  • Business Roundtable
  • The next Business Roundtable meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 12:30 pm at Hometown Favorites, 669 Broad St., Souderton.

Please RSVP to the Main Streets Office if you plan to attend.
