The ribbon cutting is a simple media event to help new businesses announce their opening.

This service is provided by the Economic Restructuring Committee in cooperation with the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Make joining a committee of the Souderton-Telford Main Streets your 2008 New Year's Resolution. Volunteers are needed for all committees as they take on a full schedule of activities.

Last fall, a series of public meetings were held to gather input for an updated Vision for Souderton and Telford. This vision would be the guiding force for the Main Streets program as we develop a new mission statement, strategic plan and a five-year work plan to achieve that vision.

As new opportunities present themselves and new programs are available, the vision needed to reflect these changes.

Here is the vision as approved by the STMS Board of Directors:

Souderton and Telford are two communities connected in spirit that are developing their cultural business districts to complement and sustain revitalization.

We envision Souderton and Telford residents and businesses flourishing together in a sustainable community: where we live, work and gather together;

where our economies are healthy and our towns are attractive to residents, businesses and visitors alike;

where people of all ages and backgrounds enjoy the preserved heritage, diversity and culture of our vibrant family-oriented communities.
