The September Business Roundtable will be held at the Caboose Grille at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Please come and learn about the exciting and busy schedule for the upcoming fall season. Meet the new office manager, Deborah Callahan, learn which new eatery will be open next and meet your fellow Souderton and Telford business owners. Please RSVP to Deb so she can let The Caboose Grille know how many are attending.

  • Your Vision
  • Make room in your schedule to attend the re-visioning of the Souderton-Telford Main Streets. We need your input to help guide where we are headed. Thursday, September 13 at 7 pm, come to SAAC and speak your piece. We need ideas and enthusiasm. Bring your friends, family and colleagues to make sure we have a well rounded perspective for this vision. From the vision created that evening will come our updated mission statement, goals and objectives and five-year work plan. Learn more at our website.

  • More Food -A Second Course
  • Our food festival was such a hit in July that the Promotions Committee and the restaurants decided to do it again on Saturday, September 22 from 10 am to 3 pm. Come out to the Indian Valley Farmers' Market Fall Food Festival and sample some of the best food in the area. Of course, farmers and bakers being farmers and bakers, they will open the Indian Valley Farmers Market at the usual hour of 8:30 am.

  • New additions to the Food Festival

Local community groups have been invited to participate in the food festival. We charge them $25 to reserve their space. They may sell food, promote upcoming fund-raisers or just say hello.

If they provide at least five volunteers for set up or tear down, we will refund their $25. It's a new concept that has worked well in other communities and we are stealing the idea. Download the forms and information at our website.

  • Special Guests
  • We have invited special guests to participate in the Food Festival: the Quakertown Train Station Historical Society. They have been serving as unpaid consultants on the restoration of the Telford rail buildings. Because they recently completed a major historical restoration of the Quakertown Train Station, they knew where to find the original architectural drawings for our buildings, what the original colors were and a wealth of other details that made our project so much more accurate.

  • Young Professionals Network Group
  • Our Economic Restructuring Chair and Board member, Matt Rittenhouse is working with the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce to create a Young Professionals Network. Their first event is on Tuesday, September 11 from 5 to 7 pm at Leddy's Pub at the Lederach Golf Club in Harleysville. This networking opportunity is geared toward young professionals as they start to form those professional (and personal) relationships that last a lifetime. Call the chamber office at 215-723-9472 to RSVP.

  • Paint the Town Pink
  • Souderton-Telford Main Streets is proud to work with Grandview Hospital to make material available for October's Paint the Town Pink promotion to support breast cancer awareness to your customers, clients, staff and family. You can order a range of material for free from Grandview to show your support throughout October. Watch the Souderton-Telford Main Streets website for more information. We will try to keep up with all the good ideas that this promotion will inspire.

  • Ready, Set, Go!
  • The Univest Bike Race is on Saturday!. Stop by the STMS booth in Univest's parking lot as we share our excitement about downtown Souderton and Telford with our many visitors. Watch the race on WFMZ on your television or at their website of www.wfmz.com.

Make sure your storefront looks great as we have dozens of photographers and camera crews shooting our buildings in the background and sending those images worldwide. Check out all the details at website.

  • Ideas to Steal
  • Canon Capital is hosting an invitation-only party for their clients to celebrate the race and their location at a prime viewing spot. They have nearly 200 people coming for an exciting afternoon of watching the racers whiz by in person and viewing a big screen television when the riders are out on the course.

Main Street Java will not be serving iced coffee or espresso but they will be taking advantage of the crowds to announce their opening later in September. Stop by to say hello and wish them the best. Checkout their new logo.

Tilly Mint Tea Room will be providing a peak into the tea room while serving iced tea and lemonade to benefit Indian Creek Foundation. She will quietly open on Wednesday, September 12. The October Roundtable will be held there, so you will get to see what magic she has done to that space.

Let us know if your business is doing anything special to celebrate the race.

  • Come to the Party
  • Once again, Souderton-Telford Main Streets will be holding an Open House at our office at 18 Green Street in Souderton. We will start at 4 pm and go through 7 pm on Thursday, October 4. Last year, we had so much fun eating and talking and eating and networking and eating and socializing. All our volunteers, Board members, neighbors, business owners, property owners and passersby are invited to stop in to have an evening of fun and did we mention good food?

  • News to Use
  • Kathy Frazier from PP&L gave us great handouts at a recent Indian Valley Chamber meeting that directs people to their website. They have an "Energy Analyzer" to analyze how you are using your electric with suggestions on how to save money. It's well worth checking out.

  • SHOP FOR A CAUSE!
  • Saturday, October 13 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. we have an excuse to shop at Macy's! This one-day shopping event is a way that Macy's at Montgomery Mall gives back to our community. On Shop for a Cause Day, guests have the opportunity to participate in a unique shopping experience including discounts, entertainment, special events and the opportunity to win a $500 gift card - all while helping to support Indian Valley Chamber's Community Leadership Institute.
