On Monday, May 7th, the Souderton
Borough Council will be voting on whether to
accept the C-3 ordinance as revised with a
cap of 65 feet on new construction within the
C-3 zone or to return the ordinance to the
Souderton Planning Commission to review
again. The Souderton-Telford Main Streets
supports returning the ordinance to the
Souderton Planning Commission for review. We
want to see them return to the original
language that limits new construction to go
to 65 feet with the Borough Council having
the option to permit a height of 85 feet.
To help you understand why these are critical
issues that will impact the future of
downtown Souderton, follow the links to
position papers and websites found on the
homepage of www.stmanst.org
. If you agree with our position on this
issue, we would appreciate if you attended
the Council meeting on May 7th as a show of
support.

Ribbon Cutting on May 7th, 2007

Diane's Nail Salon has been in
downtown Souderton for over 12 years but she
gets a ribbon cutting on Monday, May 7th at
12:30pm. Diane Lu recently moved her
business to 1 North Front Street and
Souderton-Telford Main Streets' Economic
Restructuring Committee is hosting a ribbon
cutting to celebrate. Stop by to wish her the
best on this transition.
Her business was formerly located in the
Broad Street theater building. Her former
space will be transformed into handicap
accessible restrooms for the theater as part
of the ongoing renovations.

Indian Valley Farmers' Market Food Festival

To kick off the 2007 season for the Indian
Valley Farmers Market, the Souderton-Telford
Main Streets' Promotion Committee is
launching a one-day festival on Saturday,
July 7. Joe Chiaro from Caruso's had
suggested an Italian festival. Consequently,
this year's theme is "Everyone is Italian for
the Day!"
All the restaurants within Souderton and
Telford Boroughs will be invited to set up a
booth and participate. They will receive a
letter with details and the Promotion
Committee volunteers will follow up with a
personal visit. Anyone interested in
sponsorship opportunities should call the
STMS office at 215-723-6627. Watch this email
update for details.
Mark you calendar and invite your friends and
family. You will be able to say you were at
the first Indian Valley Farmers' Market Food
Festival.
