Winter Weather Reminder

Just as a reminder, we do have a Winter Weather policy in place for meetings and such. You can see this policy on our website.

Come to the first ribbon cutting ceremony in Telford! Tax Returns Plu$ Financial Services will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting at 11:30 am on Tuesday, January 16 and an Open House for local businesses, friends, clients and future clients from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2007. The public is welcome to visit the new offices at 126 Penn Avenue in Telford to meet the owners and enjoy light refreshments.

They are extending a special invitation to the readers of the Souderton-Telford Main Streets email list to stop by the Open House. Trudy Detwiler and Bob Birett both attend the Business Roundtable when their schedules permit. Consequently, they wanted to make sure their friends and colleagues from the Business Roundtable and from throughout Souderton and Telford were invited.

  • Future Ribbon Cuttings in the Works
  • The Economic Restructuring Committee’s purpose is to strengthen existing businesses and to attract new businesses into downtown Souderton and Telford. Celebrating the opening of a new business or the expansion of an existing business is just one of the many projects that this committee undertakes.

The committee is currently juggling the many new business openings with recently opened businesses that also want a ribbon cutting. At this point, the goal is to hold a ceremony every other week until we have accommodated everyone. That spaces the press releases to the local media so they have a steady stream of photo opportunities.

Robin Clegg of Equity Trust is the volunteer who is coordinating this project with the Souderton-Telford Main Streets office. She works with the business owner to coordinate a date and time and gathers the basic information about the business. She deserves credit for the three successful ceremonies that we held before the holidays.

For more information about the Economic Restructuring Committee, check their webpage or contact the Main Streets office at 215-723.6627.

  • New Year, New Leadership
  • 2007 Executive Board

With the New Year, a few faces have changed on the Souderton-Telford Main Streets Executive Board as terms expire and new officers are elected.

Elections were held at the November Board of Directors meeting. The new slate of officers took their new positions with the New Year. From left to right in the photo are: Barry Stoltzfus, Diana Lindsay, (rear) John Reynolds, (front) Andy Schlosser and Scott Hillegass. Read more...

Anyone interested in serving on the Souderton-Telford Main Streets Board of Directors should contact anyone from the Executive Board or the Main Streets Manager. For more information on our committees, please visit their homepage.

  • Hillside Ave and Main Street

The Streetscape is nearly completed, but keep an eye out for the little details. The new street signs add a real touch of class.

  • January 2007 Business Roundtable
  • The January Business Roundtable was held at Viet Nam Cafe on Wednesday, January 10. This was the first time that the Business Roundtable met at this fine Telford establishment. Only seven people attended but we had fun sampling the Vietnamese cuisine. Let's hope that when we come back the next time, we have more adventurous souls join us. The next Business Roundtable will be held on Tuesday, February 9. The location will be in the next e-update.
