Using Video to Build Your Business

In the February issue of Connections magazine (the national online publication for the Women's Council of REALTORS®), I was asked to write about how using video can really build your client base, get new business, and establish trust and a more personal relationship with your prospects.

"Because competition is so fierce in the current economic market, REALTORS® and business professionals are searching for new and different ways to promote their services. As I discovered about a year ago in my own business, using video can literally put you on the path to faster success, increased visibility and more clients. Here are some ideas to incorporate video into your business, where to market yourself and how to do it all like a pro."

Loving My Clients in February!

When I started my VA business several years ago, I had no idea that I would be so lucky to work for such a high caliber of clients.  When my alarm goes off at 5 AM each weekday morning, I am not one of those people who hits the snooze button and rolls over for more sleep.  (Ok, once in awhile I do...)  But most days, I'm excited to get to work, and that is a blessing.

As one of my clients recently wrote to me after I finished a project for her, "Ann, you're the greatest!!!  I just Love you. :)"

I could say the same about all of you.  THANKS for making my job the greatest!

To Success,

First of all, I have to send out a huge THANK YOU to so many of you who have posted comments and voted for me already.  I'm almost to the "hot" status in voting - a first in my career.  (ha ha)

Voting goes through the end of March, and you can vote once a day from now until then.  Every vote counts, and if I would rank in the Top 200, I would be SO honored.  (And it would be a huge boost to my business too!)

FINALLY...

Twitter Explained!

Twitter is a free, social networking tool in which you have 140 characters to write each of your brief messages. The goal of Twitter is not to tell your life story or to sell yourself.  Rather, it is simply to give brief statements about what you are doing at any given time. It allows you to share those statements with anyone that "follows" you.  Once you follow someone, you get to see all of the messages they are typing, about what they are doing, reading, or talking about.

You may just find potential clients to work with on Twitter, because they offer a search feature.  This allows you to find what people are talking about and to find others who might benefit from using the products or services you have to offer.

Meet Kim Laney, Inventor

Founded by Kim Laney in 2007, Terry Lane Products' mission is to create products that make everyday life easier and safer by providing easy and cost-efficient solutions to consumers.

Her latest invention is Travel Feet Disposable Foot Covers, so you don't have to walk barefoot through airport security checkpoints.  "After I read what kinds of germs, virus', and bacteria are found on airport floors," says Kim, "I never wanted to walk on them without my shoes again.  I invented Travel Feet out of a real necessity for staying safe and preventing disease."

If you've been to Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Target, you also may have seen Kim's Adjustable Hat Rack, another invention she designed and marketed.  "My idea for a hat rack was licensed to a manufacturer for thousands of dollars within five months," Kim explains, "and now I get royalties whenever they sell my hat rack!"

Kim is still inventing and also coaching and working with others who have ideas and want to market their own inventions.  You can read more about Kim, sign up to receive her newsletter, and listen to one of her latest radio interviews at http://FreeInventionSecrets.com.
