GETTING SOME FREE PUBLICITY
Recently, I signed up with this website:
When you sign up for free, you will receive up to 3 emails each day, and there will be anywhere from 15-30 queries per email. These requests in the emails come from reporters directly, and they are looking for people to interview or information for a particular story they are writing.
Getting your name in print as a resource in an article or as the author gives you instant credibility in your field. One of your goals in business should be to become one of the leaders in your marketplace, and this is a great way to help you do that. Many times when you are featured in a story, the writer will mention your company name (sometimes even your website's URL!), so it's a win-win situation for everyone! |

Four Important Things to Do As You Begin 2009
- Make a Resolution to Keep Your Inbox to 20 Emails Or Less - Now, I know for some of you reading this, you're thinking, "WHAT?! That's IMPOSSIBLE!" It may sound crazy, but it will help you become more efficient. Start creating file folders for each client, project, etc. Incoming emails can be "filed" into each of these, and it will
 help you get a grip on your most important tasks AND keep you more organized.

Try an Online Reminder Service - I use http://MemoToMe.com on a regular basis. It's a free service in which you can add your own reminders, dates, etc. It will automatically send you an email to remind you of something you have to do, an appointment, etc. You'll find that you'll never miss a date or call again!
- Use Your Virtual Assistant More - This suggestion isn't a shameless attempt at self-promotion; it's good advice! Think of 5 things you are doing now that you could outsource. Maybe it's a monthly newsletter/ezine, internet research, creating a profile on LinkedIn or other social networking sites... Make a list and put me to work! It will free up more time for you to work on building your business.
- End Your Relationship With Any Less-Than-Ideal Customers - If you would knock on my front door, you'd see a sign that reads "Leave your woulda, coulda, shoulda outside." Sometimes, the money is just not worth the aggrevation and stress a particular customer may cause you. Resolve now to end the relationship this month, in a nice way, of course. Life is too short not to enjoy every minute of the journey!
