Good News, Bad News....
We recently found out that one of our favorite yarns is being discontinued.....Rittenhouse from Manos del Uruguay. We're a little sad, but being firm believers that things happen for a reason, we have been inspired to make good use of this fabulous yarn! We will be doing a K.A.L* for the Log Cabin Blanket. We love using one of each of the Rittenhouse colors to create this great looking, simple project and we have a number of other suggestions; Eco Cloud, Tosh Chunky, Berroco Vintage....a variety of selections!!
*K.A.L. definition and explanation may be found a little lower in this newsletter and yes, those are my feet in the bottom of the picture!

Yarn Spotlight!
Comfort Yarns by Berroco rank high with us.....a variety of weights and colors, machine washable, good prices, what's not to love? This week I want to feature Comfort DK.....178 yards of 50/50 nylon and acrylic, working up 5 1/2 to 6 stitches on a 5 to 6 needle in awesome colors! This yarn is ideal for baby and kid projects because did I mention that it's also machine washable? What's not to love? Great for Roo Designs, Cabin Fever, Berroco and many more patterns!

 Get it while you can....
We still have colors left in Madeline Tosh....why not grab them while we've got them!! The colors are yummy and the yardage is awesome...did I mention that we just received a BIG box of Tosh Merino DK?!?!? The possibilities for this yarn is never ending with the various weights and colors! Don't forget the aforementioned KAL that I suggested for the Log Cabin blanket! Divine in the Tosh Yarns! If you love this yarn, join the Madeline Tosh Group on ravelry.com....they are often posting different projects and K.A.L's and C.A.L.'s....I know that all of you that crochet are smiling right now!

 April Showers.....
Bring May flowers and they can be created with yarn and needles or hooks!! Cheryl would like to show you how and has created a special class schedule focused on different flower creations! The classes being offered are: Felted Flowers Bag, Baby Flower Hat, Flower Shaped Washcloth and Tulip Heel Socks. The classes will be offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout May from 1:30 to 3:30 and the best part? In celebration of our tenth anniversary, the class cost is only $10.00 per class! That's right! Only $10.00....plus any supplies that you need! We will have all of the specifics ironed out in the next few days, but if you're interested in any of these classes, give us a call at 908-301-0053! |

That K.A.L. thing.....
What exactly is a K.A.L. you ask? Well, it is defined as a knitalong, a group of people doing the same project. Now, how does this work? Well, we will all start working on the LOG CABIN BLANKET and feature our projects on ravelry.com in the Knit-a-Bitters group. Post a picture of the project as you progress and "tag the project" with the words, "LOG CABIN" within the group. We can all watch and support each other in this effort!.First participant to finish by July 1, 2012 gets a prize! We'll help you with the knitting and the ravelry efforts! Did I mention that this blanket is done in all knit stitch?! All levels are welcome! |
