                                        Pattern of the Week
Another busy week at Knit-a-Bit and in NYC....it's Fashion Week and some may find inspiration, some may wonder who actually wears the stuff on the runway!  Well, all of it started with a pattern!  Speaking of that, we have been doing inventory on the patterns and we have come across many that we would love to create!  There are so many!  We would like to give you the opportunity to peruse and become inspired with a little extra boost.  This week only, all individual patterns are 50% off! That's right, I didn't make a typo!  50% off!!!!  Why not be the next fashionista??  So, instead of one pattern to feature, they are ALL pattern of the week!!!!
Long ago....
They grow so fast!

When we first opened Knit-a-Bit, my boys were 4 and 6 and in elementary school....I was a room mother, had Halloween parades and numerous school events to attend. Times have changed and we're about to do the same!  As of this week, Knit-a-Bit will now be open until 5:00 on Tuesday-Saturday, Wednesday until 7:00 and Sunday 12:00 - 4:00!

Book of the Week
Sweet Shawlettes by Jean Moss

Did you know that shawlettes are the new socks! This week's featured book, Sweet Shawlettes by Jean Moss is filled with these hugely popular, fashion accessories are worn about the shoulders and meant for showing off. Shawlettes are not only stylish but budget-friendly pieces make for perfect portable projects. The patters range from little more than a neck warmer or necklace to full size shawls. There are more than 25 patterns, on levels from beginner to experienced knitters.

The garments are grouped by style: Country, Couture, Folk, and Vintage, and feature gorgeous yarns of varying content, including wool, silk, cotton, and sustainable fibers. Knitters of all levels will draw inspiration from the gorgeous four-color photos. Additionally helpful are illustrations, charts, schematics and an appendix with instructions for special stitches. Shawlettes can be endlessly reinterpreted in beautiful ways as this book shows. It's one that will capture knitters' imaginations for years to come.

Winter, spring, summer, fall; Sweet Shawletteshas it all. Stop by this week and pick up your copy at 30% off. Happy Knitting!

Yarn Spotlight

This winter has been mild to say the least!  Not to mention that all of the colors in the store windows are brighter and we can easily feel Spring in the air!  Here's a yarn that will make a transition easy!

It's Ripple from Tahki. 100% cotton with a thick and thin texture and a slight shimmer.  It's a plentiful 142 yards and comes in great colors! The label recommends a size 7 needle to obtain a 4.5 to 5 stitch per inch gauge but actually I'm currently working on a size 17 needle to create the Weekend Wrap from Coco Knits (patterns are 50% off this week) and it looks beautiful!
