The counting is done!   We are really appreciative of your patience!  We are back to normal* and look forward to seeing a lot of you!

The thing about doing inventory, you have your hands on all of the yarn in stock and personally, I think that I mentioned that I want to knit with ______________yarn at least six times per day!  If only there was more time in a day!  Needless to say, my enthusiasm for the merchandise is only enhanced by counting it and I've got a lot of things that I will be knitting!  If only my hands could move faster!

*whatever normal is.....
Yarn does some good!

One of he
biggest health issues among women is heart disease. A group of yarn companies have made an effort to raise awareness through yarn. Stitch Red is aimed at informing women of the dangers of heart disease and helping
them stay heart healthy.   For every skein of Vintage Wool #5150-Berries that we order, Berroco will donate to this important organization to keep women healthy and informed!  Knit or crochet your next project in this great color and you could literally save a life!
Book of the Week
Toe-Up Two at a Time Socks
 by Melissa Morgan-Oakes

This week we are featuring a book that is sure to inspire you to try knitting socks for the first time or maybe revisiting them again, Toe-Up 2-at-a-Time Socks by Knitwear designer Melissa Morgan-Oakes. Oakes, who changed the world of sock-making forever with 2-at-a-Time Socks, her ingenious approach which delighted knitters by showing them how to simultaneously create two socks on a single circular needle. With that book, yarn enthusiasts said goodbye forever to second sock syndrome, the frustration of completing one beautiful hand-knit sock, only to remember that another must be made. Now, Morgan-Oakes turns the approach on its head or rather, its toe with Toe-Up 2-at-a-Time Socks.

With the toe-up sock approach knitters can try on the sock as they work, they never run out of yarn before the foot is complete, and they avoid needing the dreaded kitchener stitch to finish off the toe. Many swear that toe-up socks just plain feel more comfortable, too.

Morgan-Oakes combines the pleasures of toe-up knitting with the convenience of her 2-at-a-time approach in her latest book, Toe-Up 2-at-a-Time Socks. There are 15 original designs for men, women, children, and babies. From the delicate and graceful ballerina sock to the kaleidoscopic, nubby peppercorn pattern, there is a style here for every pair of feet. For each pattern, Morgan-Oakes provides row-by-row instructions, charts for both large and small feet, and captivating, four-color photographs of the finished product. Readers aren't limited to these patterns, however. Once mastered, the technique can be applied to any sock pattern.

Stop in this week and pick up your copy of Toe-UP 2-at-a-Time Socks at 30 % off. Happy Knitting!

Valentine's Day!
Yarn and Chocolate!

What yarn crafter do you know that wouldn't love some chocolate to go with their yarn or vice versa?  Jeffrey really pushed these chocolate treats during the sale but fortunately for us we still have some in stock to sell to you!  Perfect for the sweetest holiday on the calendar!  What's not to love and the price is great too!  50% off regular price while supplies last!
Yarn Spotlight
Flicker by Berroco

This is Flicker and it is one of my favorites!  It is a blend of alpaca and acrylic with a "flicker" of metallic.  It is so soft you will want to cuddle it and has great yardage!  189 yards!  It could be considered worsted to aran in weight and I could ramble on and on about this yarn!  Don't get me started!
Pattern of the Week
Just Enough Ruffles

When I choose the yarn spotlight, it's kind of fun to peruse the projects that are being used with that particular yarn....I was thrilled to see how many 'ravelerers" made this gorgeous scarf using Flicker!  Why not?  So much softness around your neck using just three skeins!  The ruffles are created using short rows; a technique to create curves and the pattern is written so well that all levels will learn the benefits and simplicity of using short rows!  I present to you the pattern of the week!
F.O.'s Hall of Fame

So many finished projects!  It is amazing how many of you have taken on such great projects!  We are thrilled that you are sharing them with us!

Pearl, Sue and Joan took on the same sweater from the Freedom Wool Book #453!  We think that they all look great and the mild winter has allowed them to wear the finished project instead of heavy winter coats!  Way to go ladies!

Marci came by and scooped up the Rowan Silk Twist the very day that I put them on sale!  She returned a few weeks later wearing the finished results from her own pattern!  It looks great and we love the color! A bargain well worn!

Anita created this adorable hat to complement her Susie's Reading Mitts....using a yarn purchase from last year's SuperBall Sale no less!  This is a hat pattern available in Knit-a-Bit with yarn purchase and if I could remember the name (you would have thought that I would have written it down!) I would tell you so that you could get it from ravelry!  Harriet just finished one for herself!  Too cute!!!
Susan Bates Circular Needles on SALE!

By doing inventory, we realize what items could use a little refreshing!  We have the Susan Bates needles in stock and we all agree that they are great stand by needles to have at the ready!  We are now offering the current stock of these circular needles at 20% off so that we can bring in a fresher, newer line of similar needles!  Take advantage of this offer and stock up on some tried and true needles that are ideal to have in your supplies!

Again, we want to thank you for your patience while we rolled on the floor, climbed on the stepstool and schlepped tubs of yarn around to count!  It isn't always our favorite thing to do, but we do love how neat the studio looks when we are done!  We will soon be stocking the shelves with some seasonal warm weather yarn and we are quite excited about that!  I'm already thinking of a great CoCo Knits project using Ripple.....stay tuned!

Here is a picture of me laying on the yarn sprawled across the floor....day three of counting in the same room!

Hope to see you this week!  Happy Valentine's Day!
