Book of the Week Fairy Tale Knits by Alison Stewart-Guinee
Every Child has fantasies of being a queen, a princess, Robin Hood or maybe a pirate. Summer time is the perfect time to make a child's dream come true, in our featured book this week, Fairy Tale Knits by Alison Steart-Guinee, you can make this happen. This beautiful, lush book is filled with 32 projects to knit happily ever after. The very first project is a sky blue Snow Queen Coat that any little girl would love. It has a lovely lace pattern and clear instructions. It even comes with a little knit capelet and hand muff. The Little Red Riding Hood cape in red is perfect for the girl in your life. It is knit with a relatively simple lace pattern. The Magic Carpet is adorable and can take your child to any destination of his dreams. It is knit in a colorful blue and green striped pattern with multi-colored triangle embellishments on the border. There are several pirate outfits for the guys, complete with skulls and crossbones. There's also a wonderful green Robin Hood jacket. I like that the book is balanced for gender - - outfits for both boys and girls. There are crowns galore - - for princes, princesses, kings and queens. The castle banner/valance is perfect for that magical bedroom, and there several wonderful accessories such as bags, holiday stockings and even a purse. Fairy Tale Knits includes a technique section that shows the various techniques and abbreviations used in the book. The project photographs are nicely done and each project includes a detail fairy tale introduction. This whimsical and lovely book would be the perfect addition to your knitting library.
Please stop in this week and pick up your copy of Fairy Tale Knits this week at a 30% discount and don't forget all our knitting books are discounted 20% off every day. Happy Knitting!

F.O.'s Gallery Overflow!
Donna made one family even more ferocious! She made these adorable animal hats using 220 Superwash from Cascade and the patterns for the Meow Cat, Frog Hat and Cupcake Hat are available via Ravelry and the Cascade Yarns website! The lucky little kitty cat model hasn't stopped meowing! |
|
F.O.'s Gallery Joan has been busy! She visits us when she's in town and was kind enough to send us these pictures from Nebraska! She made the Entrelac bag using Lamb's Pride using the THREE BAGS FULLED pattern and the Baby Surprise Jacket from Elizabeth Zimmerman was knit up with Zarina Yarn. Great job!
I actually finished this shawl from a ravelry pattern. It is called the Butterfly shawl and I used 3 skeins of Macaibo. I had a good time doing this but I wouldn't recommend doing it in the dark! I tried, unsuccessfully!

Trisha has been knitting feverishly to get these adorable pieces done in time for her daughter's baby shower! This Snuggly from Tot Toppers was done using Zara and couldn't be cuter! You have got to love the blanket....Princess and the Pea using Cascade 128....the color! The pattern! Too cute!

Pattern of the Week
Princess and the Pea BlanketI just can't say enough about this pattern! I LOVE IT! It is fun, quick and always keeps your interest! I have used Cascade 128 but you could also use Vintage or Comfort Chunky! I assure you that you will have a great time knitting this! Each pattern repeat is different and is actually called a mattress...get it, the Princess and the Pea!
