Book of the Week
 CowlGirls by Cathy Carron

COWLS, COWLS, COWLS, forget tired scarves and bulky turtlenecks - funky, chunky, hip and happening cowls are where it's at this year. This week's featured book Cowl Girls, The Neck's Big Thing to Knit by Cathy Carronwill have you knitting up a fabulous cowl in no time flat. Following her wildly successful book Hatitude and Hip Knit Hats, Carron is back with a book full of this year's hottest fashion accessory. Cowls are a hip and quick alternative to a scarf, easy to layer under a coat and stylish enough to wear all day long.

Cowl Girls contains over 40 patterns to knit things to wrap around your neck, and go over your head; there are even a few that can be worn as a hat.  The patterns come in many different skill levels and use a variety of yarns weights.  With the clearly written patterns and fabulous photographs of each finish project, you are sure to find a few cowls that strike your fancy.

Some of the outstanding cowls are Net Assets a graphic cream and black woven-pattern gaiter, Loop of Luxury a texture pattern cowl using Misty Alpaca Chunky, and Fit to be Tied a sumptuous mohair cowl with a knitted tie to create a bow effect. There are also several patterns that include hats or fingerless gloves as well.

Stop in this week and pick up your copy of Cowl Girls this week at 30% off and get started on the latest fashion craze! Don't be left out in the cold! Happy Knitting!

Yarn Spotlight  Always a tough decision

When you love yarn and when you own a knitting store, it's hard to pick just one yarn to spotlight....I always have a tough time making this decision!  I'm going with yet another favorite.....Mini Mochi from Crystal Palace.  This yarn is a superwash blend, 195 yards that knits up 6 - 8 stitches on a 1 - 4 needle and is great for a multitude of projects!  The changing color ways makes for an intriguing process.  The company likes to say that if you are making something as a pair with this yarn, it will yield fraternal twins not identical twins!  Come check this great yarn out!

I'm convinced Laura doesn't sleep....here is a cowl that she finished using one skein of Unisono yarn.  The pattern is Twisted Rib Neckwarmer free from Ravelry.  Harriet wears the same cowl in a different colorway, same yarn! Please send us pictures and details of any finished project that you want to show off!

Sheryl created this shawl by enlarging the Ribble scarf!  She used Epiphany yarn and the finished piece is stunning!

13 days and counting....
I'm watching my Patriots as we speak....we will know who will be playing in the
XLVI Superbowl by days end.  However, we know for sure that Knit-a-Bit will be holding the annual SuperBall sale!!  The sale will be held Saturday 2/4 - Monday 2/6, hours to be determined!  If you haven't experienced this event, it's not to be missed!  Everything is on sale, but come prepared!  If you're an experienced shopper, we hope that you are getting psyched and ready!  Stop by now to fill out your "play books" in preparation for the big weekend!
Some classes have started this week but if you are still interested in signing up for one, give us a call...there is a chance that we can get you started in something!

We will NOT be knitting this Monday night....sad, but true. Keep in mind, you may come sit and knit any time during our regular hours.  We love having the table full!
