"Document it! Digitize it! Distribute it!"

Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) students have once again joined a class, "History in 3D (Document it! Digitize it! Distribute it!), to work on designing a document management process for the Puerto Rican Cultural Center (PRCC).  This semester thirteen students from have read about Paseo Boricua and visited the Puerto Rican Cultural Center to learn more about the Puerto Rican community and Cultural Center.  Now they are ready to get to work!  This semester's team of students will use the tagging system that last semester's group of IIT students developed to scan, label, and put on the web the stacks of materials that the PRCC has amassed during the last forty years.  The goal this semester is to develop a test bed to make sure the tagging system works, scan as many documents and other materials as possible, and produce a manual that explains the process so that other people can finish scanning the PRCC's materials.  Faculty members John Dorr and Margaret Power are coordinating the class, as they did last semester.
