What We're Drinking Now: Syrah
Hedges Syrah "Descendants Liegeois Dupont," 2010, Red Mountain, Washington We were blown away by this wine, a Syrah that drinks way more like classic Northern Rhone Cornas than the blueberry-infused Australian version. Bold, dense and brooding, with notes of blackberry, smoke, dark chocolate and tar, followed by that tell-tale lift of Washington state acidity and a hint of cocoa powder on the finish. Dark and delicious, and black as the night, perfect for the chilly fall weather ahead. $28.50/bottle |
