Lego Building Extravaganza at the Sewickley Public Library!
Attention all Lego Enthusiasts! Join us on Wednesday, August 8 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Sewickley Public Library for a Lego building extravaganza! We'll have building competitions that range from the wacky to the realistic. We'll have some Legos to use, but feel free to bring your own as well! Grades K - 5. Sponsored by the Jaguar Club of Pittsburgh, the Annual Jaguar Car Show will be held on Saturday, August 11th from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on the section of Broad Street between Thorn Street and Beaver Street. This section will be closed to traffic from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm.
 11:00 am - 6:00 pm Sewickley United Methodist Church Children's Festival The Sewickley United Methodist Church will be sponsoring their 4th Annual Street Carnival, with an entertainment lineup featuring various musical genres & live performing bands. All of your favorite carnival food will be available, from pierogies, sausauge & peppers, & hot dogs, to walking tacos, nachos, & ice cream. There will be carnival games for all ages, including a bounce house, dunk tank, prizes, a cake walk & more. 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Sewickley Sidewalk Sale Join your favorite Sewickley businesses for some alfresco shopping on Saturday. Share your favorite purchases and photos from the day by tweeting at us (@xploresewickley) and use the hashtag #swklysale.Your photos could be featured on our Facebook page!  7:30 pm - 9:30 pm Family Campfire Night at Fern Hollow Nature Center Cap off your fun day in the Village with some gourmet s'mores and stargazing! Fern Hollow Nature Center in Sewickley Heights is hosting a family campfire from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Participants are invited to sing songs, eat gourmet s'mores, and do some stargazing. Admission is $15 per family for members, or $25 per family for non-members. Sunday August 12, 2012, 3:00 pm  Italian BBQ on the farm Join us for a lovely outdoor afternoon BBQing Italian Style with chefs Justin Severino, Sam diBattista of Vivo Kitchen & Bite Bistro, Michel Savoia of Dish Osteria, Domenic Branduzzi of Piccolo Forno and Stephen Felder of Stagioni. Cost is $85, complimentary beer and wine. August 13th through 18th is Pittsburgh Restaurant Week, and Vivo is a featured restaurant! Vivo Kitchen in Sewickley will be featuring a three-course tasting menu for $35.00. Reservations are highly recommended.

Cleaning out your kids' closets this summer? St. Stephen's Side by Side ministry to single moms is collecting new and gently-used clothing, sizes 6x through Teen. (Pants, long-sleeved shirts, and light jackets are especially needed.)
Clothing can be dropped off at St. Stephen's Church (Broad and Frederick Streets) and MAK Studio (447 Beaver Street) through Sunday, August 12th.
