"Miss Representation: A Documentary"

The Sewickley Public Library, in conjunction with Youth Connect, is delighted to announce two showings of Miss Representation, an award-winning documentary that confronts the insufficient, and often unfavorable, portrayals of females in the media. The film focuses on the detrimental effect these portrayals can have on the average woman's ability to feel powerful or be respected in a position of power.

Please join us on August 2nd for a viewing and brief discussion. The viewings will be held at 11:00am and 6:00pm in the library's Community Room. We encourage both youth and adults to participate. The film is rated TV-14. Find more information on this topic at ExploreSewickley.com!

The Village of Sewickley went viral this week as a surprise flash mob proposal closed down Broad and Beaver Streets for about an hour on Saturday, July 28th!

Many thanks to Mayor Brian Jeffe, Borough Manager Kevin Flannery, and the 300+ people in attendance for helping Joey Lancianese propose in an epic way to longtime girlfriend Alex DeLoia, Social Media Strategist at Village Green Partners. Watch the video, produced by Singing Cowboy Productions, here.
