Leetsdale Fourth of July Celebration
Come and celebrate Independence Day with music, food, and lots of family fun! The Fourth of July Parade starts at 2:00 pm, featuring classic cars, vintage military vehicles, local police cars and firetrucks (and LOTS of candy), as well as the University of Pittsburgh Drumline and Quaker Valley High School Marching Band.

The Splashpad will be open from noon to 6pm as well as other activities for children.
4th of July Committee will be operating the concession stand from 3pm to 9pm offering many delicious treats! Fireworks pre-program at the Quaker Valley Football Stadium starting at 9pm (emceed by Josh Walker). The Fireworks show by Zambelli will begin at DUSK. The launch site will be the same site as last year, so recommended viewing sites are Quaker Village Parking Lot and the High School Stadium.

Edgeworth's annual Fourth of July bike parade will begin at 10 am on Wednesday at Edgeworth Elementary School's parking lot on Meadow Lane. Children are invited to decorate their bicycles and tricycles and ride through the neighborhood with their families. The Edgeworth Police Department and Cochran Hose Fire Department will be in attendance.

Penguin Bookshop is having a hot dog party to celebrate Steve Blass's new baseball book A Pirate for Life. The 2012 season will mark Steve Blass' 53rd year of involvement with the Pirates, having been associated with the club since signing his first professional contract on June 27, 1960. He ranks seventh on the club's all-time list in strikeouts (896) and 14th in wins. Meet and greet with Steve Blass and get an autographed copy of A Pirate for Life.
