Summertime is approaching fast! Imagine yourself on the Amalfi coast without leaving your back porch when you sip some ice-cold homemade Lemoncello. Co-sponsored by the Italian Garden project, Fern Hollow will show you how to make this wonderful natural infusion of lemons in alcohol. As always we try to "buy local" so we will be using Pennsylvania's own Boyd and Blair vodka made from local potatoes. Please bring a 1 quart glass container with a lid (mason jars are perfect) and we will send you home with the beginnings of the national drink of Italy! As always we will have some sweet and savory bites to share and tastings of Lemoncello. Program Fee: FHNC Members $50 per person and Non-members are $65 per person if you want to take home a bottle. If you are interested in just learning the program fee is $25 per person for members and $35 for non-members. Registration is required. Seating is limited. Call 412-741-6136.

Sewickley is steeped in history. Once a summer haven for industrialists and business leaders, the area maintains the feeling of a bygone era with its historic homes and village atmosphere. For two days every other year, six local homeowners offer a glimpse into the area's gracious past, or a stunning vision of the state-of-the-art in design and function. Homes are chosen for architectural and historic importance. The tour will run on Friday, May 4 from 9:00am-4:00pm, bus ($88, which includes lunch) or self-guided ($30) walking tours and from 6:00pm-9:00pm for a self-guided Candlelight Tour (also $30). On Saturday, May 5, self-guided walking tours run from 9:00am-4:00pm. As in years past, a bus tour by Lenzner Coach Lines will be available. Please see the website for more information.
