Jon Agee Comes to the Penguin Bookshop
Jon Agee is the author/illustrator of many books for children, including My Rhinoceros, Mr. Putney's Quacking Dog, Palindromania!, Incredible Painting of Felix Clousseau, and Go Hang a Salami! His stories - of mysterious painters, hard luck magicians, guffawing grumps, and forgotten astronauts - have been called quirky, absurdist, and above all, humorous. His sophisticated wit appeals to children and adults alike. Jon Agee is coming to Sewickley thanks to the Sewickley Area Libraries and a generous grant from the Child Health Association of Sewickley. Carnival for a Cure at Edgeworth Elementary School
Come to Edgeworth Elementary for a family-friendly night of carnival games, face painting, crafts, prizes and food. Admission is a $5 per family donation, which includes event tickets. Tickets for additional activities will be sold at the door.

Pancake Breakfast and Maple Sugaring Celebration at Fern Hollow Nature Center
Enjoy a delicious breakfast of traditional buckwheat pancakes with Pennsylvania maple syrup while learning about the history and traditions of maple sugaring. In addition to great food there will be a tree tapping, children's activities, raffle, and much more. There will be seatings available every half-hour. Sewickley Series: March Winds
The Renaissance City Winds has become one of Pennsylvania's foremost chamber ensembles. Touring takes the group throughout the eastern U.S., with past appearances at the Kennedy Center, New York's famed Carnegie Recital Hall, and the Pennsylvania governor's home. The Renaissance City Winds has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, Chamber Music America, Meet the Composer, and the Aaron Copland Fund for Music. This concert, which is the culminating event of a 15-day residency project, will feature music originally composed by Sewickley Academy students. The First Annual Sewickley Soup Crawl
The details are being finalized for the the first Soup Crawl in Sewickley. Come taste over a dozen soups from local restaurants and vote for your favorite. The winning restaurant will get bragging rights for "Best Soup of Sewickley". And for the non-restauranteurs, if you think you have what it takes to make the best soup, then enter your soup in our "Best Sewickley Souper" contest and have your soup judged by a celebrity panel of judges. You could walk away with a great prize! A St. Patty's Day themed scavenger hunt will be available for the kids so bring the whole family. $10 to enter your soup and $10 to participate in the Soup Crawl. Canned goods will also be collected at the registration table located at Wolcott Park. Proceeds benefit the Sewickley Community Center Food Bank.
