Texas Declared America's Top State for Business

CNBC Study Ranks Texas as No. 1 Business Climate in the Nation

AUSTIN, Texas - Texas is America's Top State for Business 2012, according to CNBC's sixth-annual study that scored all 50 states on 51 measures of competitiveness.

"Claiming the spot as America's Top State for Business 2012 reinforces the fact that the Lone Star State is the nation's leader in fostering an economic climate that creates jobs, promotes innovation and opens the door to unlimited opportunity," Gov. Perry said. "Our conservative fiscal policies, including low taxes, fair courts and predictable regulations, keep our state the top destination to live, work, grow a business and raise a family."   Read more

Leadership Plus - Preparing to start year two of the program...

Leadership Plus is a program based on the belief fifty-five and older individuals can offer a wealth of experience, leadership and vitality to their communities all while enriching their own lives by having opportunities for service. The primary objectives of the program are to open the door to civic engagement and volunteering by reconnecting participants with community needs. This program is especially helpful to individuals in this age bracket who are new to the community or who have been out of touch with the community's economic development.

For more information on the Leadership Plus program, contact Amy Denison, program director, 838-6581, adenison@bmtcoc.org, or if you are interested in participating in the LP program. The first session of Leadership Plus is January 11, 2013. Please click on the link provided to nominate a candidate for this beneficial program. Nominations will be accepted through September 1, 2012.
