| WELCOME PASTOR CHAD BREKKE | | |
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is excited to Welcome Pastor Chad Brekke and his family. Pastor Brekke and his wife Lori have been married for 18 years and have been blessed with two daughters: Lydia 13 and Clara 10. Pastor Brekke comes from St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Chester Springs, PA. Sunday, September 25th is his first day of preaching. |

Tuesday, Oct. 11 - Day Trip Tour stopping at St. Olaf, the Round  Barn B&B, historic stops in Red Wing and dinner at Vasa Lutheran Church.

| ART CRAFT & BAKE SALE NOVEMBER 19, 2011 | | |
The Art, Craft & Bake Sale will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Nov. 19, 2011, 9 am - 6pm. Get your items ready and register by November 10 for a table. Forms are in the Welcome Center or contact Angie Bendtsen at 612-810-0673 or abendtsen@comcast.net. |
| CHILDREN'S MINISTRY NEWS | | |
Upcoming Events for Children & Families
- Operation Christmas Child: Collection Underway: We are once again doing Operation Christmas Child. From now until mid-November, we will be collecting Crayons (24 ct. boxes), Pencils, Pens, Notebooks, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, NEW small toys (toy cars, small dolls, etc), and boxes. Check back soon for updates on donations.
- Children's Choir - Meets on Sunday Mornings! Here at Prince of Peace, we are very blessed to have a talented choir under the direction of Katie Hines. If you have a child or grandchild that is in grades 1-6 that LOVES to sing, then choir is the place for you. We will meet on Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:30 in the Chapel! Choir started on September 18th, but it's NOT TOO LATE to join. You do not need to pre-register for Choir, simply come on the first day and fill out the forms that are available. If you have questions or would like more information feel free to email us at popkidschoir@gmail.com.
- Children's Ministry Committees: Last April we formed committees or teams to help out with various aspects of Children's Ministry. The teams are as follows: Curriculum, Faith in Action, Summer Programming, Music, Family Events, Supply and Resources Team, Art and Decorating, Parent Connection/Child Safety, Volunteer Recruitment. If you are interested in being a part of one of these teams, please let Katie know. We will be having a joint meeting on Monday, September 26th @ 6:30 PM.
- First POPers Event is October 9th! We will be heading to the TWIN CITIES CORN MAZE. Information was sent out this week to all 4th-6th Graders. If you did not receive the information, please visit our Childrens Ministry EVENT page.

| I'M IN! | |  Catch the Excitement! We are embarking on a new era, one that will advance our ministry locally and globally. Our goal was to raise $36,000 by the end of September. We did it! Thanks to everyone that caught the excitement!

| RIVER OF LIFE REMODELED KITCHEN COMPLETE | | |
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church along with 15 local churches contributed to the 2011 Kitchen Remodel at River of Life.
In 1983 Loaves & Fishes began serving a nightly hot meal to the community. Now that the kitchen is up to modern standards, it can be used for more than 20 additional community events and feeding ministries per year.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS
| |  Sunday School registration is ONLINE!
- Once you register, PLEASE send Katie an email to make sure that the registration went through. We are using a new form, and some forms have not come through the system. Also, please feel free to send in your $20 registration fee to the Church office ATTN: Katie Rykal.
- TEACHERS NEEDED: If you are interested in being a teacher or co-teacher WE NEED YOU! Below are a list of classes that still need a teacher. 9:00 am - 4th grade class; 10:30 am - 4 year old class and 5 year old class.

Women Of Faith And Love Bible Study (WOFAL)
We meet on the 1st & 3rdWednesdays of the month @ 7:00 p.m. Contact Naomi Helm with questions.
The study is Angels (LifeGuide Bible Study$6.29/tx or 10+ @ $5.49/tx). Thirty-four of the Bible's books talk about angels in detail. Jesus referred to angels as real beings who were involved in every realm of human activity.
