AXIS Youth just finished MISSION WEEK!

 

If you would have seen them you would have been proud! Our 6th-8th graders worked together to serve a variety of agencies in the area! Friendships were formed and amidst serving others they had a lot of fun!

We are God's Superstars!

 

 In concert from

 

 9 am - 12 Noon 

 

 July 18-22, 2011 

 

 

VEGGIE CAMP: GOD'S SUPERSTARS - we're going "backstage with the Bible" in a rock concert format to learn about key Bible stories through music, crafts, games and drama! 

 

 

 

 

At Veggie Camp, we'll learn the stories of:

  • Creation
  • God's Law (10 Commandments)
  • The Cross
  • Salvation (grace and forgiveness)
  • The Great Commission

 

Cost is $55. Extended Care is available for an additional fee and it requires advance registration. Contact Katie for information. Here are a couple of photos from the June session.

COOKIE ANGEL REVEALED!

Thank you to Brian Larson for his past service and to Carol Jacobson for beginning!

Our prayers have been answered! Thankfully, Brian Larson has faithfully delivered cookies for our fellowship hour for quite some time. He deserves a break! And so we welcome Carol Jacobson who has graciously stepped forward to pick up and deliver cookies for Sunday mornings. Thank you to both of them for serving their Prince of Peace community!

SPECIAL OLYMPICS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 
Games are Saturday, July 30th 
The Men's Activity Group is organizing a team of volunteers to support the athletes. Men and women 15 years and up are encouraged to sign up by July 15th! There are many ways to get involved - field maintenance, umpire, scorer/field announcer, medic, awards, concessions and registration. It's on a "first come, first serve" basis. Let Dave Herzuck know if you plan to get involved. Here's a link to the registration form.
YOUTH NEED HELP "BRIDGING THE GAP"
 We're coming up short on scholarship funds 

The church council and the congregation have bWapo gapeen generous in supporting youth with scholarship funds to attend Camp Wapo and the Youth Mission Trip, but we have not met the needs brought forth.

 

If you can help us bridge the gap, you will be helping some youth experience some faith-forming events!

 

Indicate "Youth Scholarship" omission gapn the memo line of your check. We'd love to offer all an opportunity to be involved in these life changing activities. All support is greatly appreciated! If you need more information, please contact Natalia.

MEALS-ON-WHEELS Drivers Needed
Monthly - In the Fall 
ceapPart of the CEAP Award-winning Prince of Peace team is two teams of drivers who manage a route on a Thursday and a Friday. Prepared food is delivered to people in need. Each route takes less than one hour! Can you help or can you be a substitute? Contact Ken Lundgren or the church office to learn more.

 Sammys5% Goes Back to Prince of Peace Youth 
Mark your calendar! Make pizza night Sunday, June 26th and Sammy Perrella's will give 5% of the proceeds back to Prince of Peace Youth! Last time we did this, we heard fun stories of all the members who ran into each other at the pizza restaurant either eating in or carrying dinner out! Let's see if we can pack this place again! Disaster Relief will continue for quite some time
Lutheran Social Services Disaster Relief has a easy-to-use online tool for financial support. You can designate how your gift is used in that community - for youth, elderlyLutheran Social Services, camps, or where the need is greatest. It will take a long time and much assistance for these people to return to the kind of life they had before the destruction. Visit Lutheran Social Services to provide financial support.
