The fourth Sunday of Easter is sometimes called "Good Shepherd Sunday."
The gospel for Sunday, May 15, refers to Jesus as the "gate" of the sheep. He anoints our heads with oil and guides us beside the still waters of our baptism. Each Sunday he spreads a feast before us in the midst of the world's violence and war. We go forth to be signs of the resurrection and extend God's care to all creation.
This Sunday you'll also hear from Lisa Stordahl from TreeHouse Youth. Here in our community we can extend care to others and help bring them to the gate of the Good Shepherd. Is this an opportunity that stirs you? Come and see. |

This morning, my son said, "Mom, look at our beautiful tree!" There, in the front yard was our tree - a sapling really - skinny and scrawny yet bursting with gentle pink blossoms. After a long cold, snowy winter, those blossoms are especially sweet. A sign of new life! Winter's slumber is behind us and the rush of the growing season has begun. Let us give thanks for all of creation and nature and embrace it with wonder and joy!
See you Sunday,
