What a roller-coaster ride of spring temperatures. The vineyard managers are whizzes trying to keep up with what mother nature has to throw at them.Hopefully with the temperatures predicted to rise we will be spared from another frost. I am always amazed on how we are able to enjoy a glass of wine with all the unpredictable factors that must go successfully, in order for us to partake. Tonight uncork a bottle of vino and enjoy!!

Long Point Winery
Seasons of a Finger Lakes Winery, tells the story of Long Point Winery by John Hartsock, who won first place at the International Gourmand Awards Ceremony held at the Folies Bergere in Paris on March 6. The author a professor at the State University of New York at Cortland said in his acceptance remarks "Of course I'm very honored, but this also honors the many winemakers around the world who work so hard at trying to make the best wines they can". A human interest story, Seasons of a Finger Lakes Winery follows the course of the four seasons at Long Point Winery owned by Gary and Rosemary Barletta. The winery like many in the Finger Lakes is a mom and pop operation. The winery opened in 1999 and is part of a national trend that has resulted in the rapid expansion of the number of wineries in the United States in recent years. The book additionally recounts the challenges the Barlettas faced in opening the winery as well as the successes. John Hartsock admits "The book tells of the excitement and struggle of people trying to coax from the soil a delicate product to be enjoyed in a glass". ______________________________________________________________________ June 3rd, Dinner at Long Point Winery A Specially Prepared Mediterranean Picnic by Fabio Sunday, June 3rd at 2:00PM $65.00 per person all inclusive (5% discount on reservations for a table of 10) Reservations required 315 364-6990
