Wine Sparkles Galore!

I can't believe that half the year is over and here we are already celebrating the 4th of July. On the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, we have a plethora of 4th of July weekend parties planned. First we can start you out on Friday at Montezuma's Farmer's Market and concert plus Buttonwoods' Friday Night Concert. On Saturday visit Cayuga Ridge for their Dancing on the Deck with "Dam Dogs", Thirsty Owls' Red, White & Blues Party, or Americana's 30th Birthday Bash. On Sunday winemaker Dave Breeden will entice you with Sheldrake Points' Gewurztraminer wine comparison event. Of course all the wineries are open during this holiday weekend so hope to see you there.  www.cayugawinetrail.com

Sorry to say, our sparkle today has been dimmed. one of our fond colleagues from Red Newt Winery, Deb Whiting was killed last evening in a car accident. In her honor please raise your  Finger Lakes wine glass this holiday weekend.

Keep Safe!!

Summer Promotions

Our first promotion for the summer is our $25.00 Gas/Gift card. Thank you to every one who filled out the survey last month it was a huge success. WLucas pandeo scenee have had 3 winners so far and will be picking another today.  Two months are left until August 26 with this promotion so if you haven't filled out our survey make sure to do so and tell your friends and family  to join our e-club located on our home page. This gas/gift card is redeemable at the winery of your choice. Good Luck!!

Partnerships are a wonderful thing here in the Finger Lakes and we are presently working with two great partners. Now through September 5th, at the Museum of the Earth, the artwork of artist Ray Troll and paleontologist Kirk Johnson, titled Cruisin' the Fossil Freeway is one of the highlighted exhibits for the summer. This exhibit explores evolution, extinction, and prehistoric life. While all of Troll's paintings are fun to look at, there is an added treat located in many of the paintings-a cheeseburger. To encourage the road trip theme the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail is offering an appreciation card to anyone who visits the museum this summer. This card entitles the bearer a 15 percent discount on a minimum 3 bottle wine purchase at each of the winery members along the trail. Yes, this is a prehistoric road trip you will not want to miss!

Another partner we're working with is  Greek Peak Mountain Resort in conjunction with the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance to host our first ever "Be a Wine Maker for a Week Contest". Tell us why through a video or essay on why you would like to learn more about winemaking here in the Finger Lakes. The contest includes accommodations at Greek Peak Resort, working with three of our wineries, free wine tour and tickets to two great festivals, Cork 'n Fork and Lucas's German Fest. Check out the website www.winemakerforaweek.com for all the details and start to enter now. Voting closes August 12 at Noon.
