Two SCRIP Tables Are Better Than One!

To ensure kindergarten parents can participate fully, we are having a Thursday SCRIP Table from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm out in front of the Meadows' office. Everyone is welcome but we hope that to see a lot of kindergarten parents! Bring your check books (cash/debit/credit also accepted). Friday SCRIP Table will be open as usual from 2 - 3 pm outside the cafeteria. If you can't stop by, please complete your weekly order form or order online at www.ShopWithScrip.com. Meadows Volunteer Fair
| |  Catch the Spirit! Get Involved! Join us outside on the cafeteria patio THIS Friday, April 20 from 2-3pm to find out how you can help at Meadows in the upcoming year. Sign up to become more involved with your favorite Programs and Fundraising committees, or just stop by to see what's available! We'll be collecting names and contact information, so no commitment is necessary at this point. PTA representatives will be on-hand to answer any questions you might have. Jamba Juice will be available for purchase! $2 for your choice of Strawberry or Mango! Of course, Scrip and Ice Cream sales will be there as well! |

Join the "Brownies!" | | Attention Parents of Incoming Second Grade Girls: Are you interested in being a Girl Scout "Brownie" troop leader? We have a wait list of five girls who wish to join the Daisy troop transitioning to Brownies in the fall but have been unable to join because the troop is at capacity. If we can find one additional volunteer leader, the existing troop can split into two enabling these girls to join. The training is easy and the current leaders are prepared to help along the way. Rubio's Fundraiser

| |  April is Earth Month! Check out all we are doing for Earth month on the back of the Go Green Challenge Contest form from your Tuesday envelope. Richstone Pier-to-Pier Walk | | Mark Your Calendar! The Richstone Pier-to-Pier Walkathon is on Saturday, April 28th at the Manhattan Beach Pier.Join us with your friends, family, and neighbors for a nice EASY and FUNwalk from the Manhattan Beach Pier to the Hermosa Beach Pier and back. Richstone is the largest community event that helps to raise the vital funds needed to continue our mission of treating and preventing child abuse, strengthening families and preventing violence in schools and communities. Shopping for Students | |
The Manhattan Village mall has some fun things planned this month! Also, from now until April 30th, if you buy any gift certificate from the concierge, Meadows will receive triple points on every gift certificate purchased. Lastly, a reminder that April 30 is the last day to turn in receipts from any store in the shopping center. Please place your receipts in the box for Shopping for Students in the office.

Water Bottle Recycling at Meadows | | Help the Environment and Meadows Cub Scout Pack 275 has placed collection boxes by the cafeteria, back gate and office. Please bring in and/or drop off your empty water bottles through April 30th! All proceeds will be donated to Meadows. |
Nursery Sale Coming in May | | Haven't planted your garden yet? Grades of Green and Growing Great are teaming up to host a nursery sale on Fridays after school in the the month of May. The plants are planted in pots upcycled from the lunch trays, and you can plant the whole pot directly in the ground. All proceeds will go to the PTA. |
Pennekamp Open 2012
| |  Please support education by participating in the Pennekamp Tennis Open on May 5 at Mira Costa High School. Grab your friends and spend the day playing a fast-paced, round-robin format women's doubles tournament. Four separate divisions based on playing level, with two winners per division. Prizes will be given to all the winners. Raffle prizes given throughout the day. And when you aren't on the court, enjoy a few tips from the pros! 100% of the proceeds will be donated to MBEF. Calling All Soccer Players!
| |  We are looking for some soccer playing PARENTS to represent Meadows in this annual fundraiser tournament. Proceeds will benefit the Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation (MBAF) which funds facilities, programs, and equipment that benefit our children in the Manhattan Beach School District. Meadows will battle teams from the other MBUSD schools on May 12 at Mira Costa's Waller Stadium. We'll begin practicing in April so please let us know if you would like to join Team Meadows ASAP!
