Last Days of PTA Membership Drive!
PTA logo Earn $100 For Your Classroom!
For each classroom that gets 100% participation, your teacher receives $100 for classroom purchases! If you haven't joined yet, please consider joining at any amount to get your classroom to 100% participation. See standings outside your classrooms.

The PTA spends almost $400 per student on everything from classroom supplies to programs (your classroom Halloween parties, Young at Art, Winter Program, Smart Boards, computers, supplies for the science lab, paper, pencils and SO MUCH MORE). Your help is critical in giving our students the quality education they deserve.

Grades of Green
Grades of Green logo Help Wanted: No Experience Necessary

As you know, we have made a big environmental and educational impact on the kids at Meadows in the last few of years. But we need help to do it again this year!!  Prior to Grades of Green we were contributing 9-10 bags of trash to the landfills per day just from the lunch program. Our Trash Free Lunch program reduces our waste to about 1 bag. Volunteering at lunch is a great way to see what your children are and are not eating at lunch, plus you get to meet other great volunteers.  You might be shocked to see how many kids take one bite and toss the rest.

Need more one-on-one time with your child?  Does your child have a test to study for?  Take a walk to school on Wednesdays. On the way there, you can practice the times table or even just have a good chat with your child. If you can get to school 15 minutes early, you can also help us pass out wrist bands to others who joined in on the morning stroll.  Next to coffee, it is a great way to start the morning. Can't make it to lunch or have too hard of a time just getting out the door in the morning?  We have plenty of other opportunities to help make our environment better for the next generation. Please contact Carol Paden at carol@teampaden.com or Maroun Aboutanos at maroun88@gamil.com to get involved.

Classroom SCRIP Challenge Update

This year's Classroom SCRIP Challenge if off to a great start! Congratulations to Mr. Chao's 5th grade class for taking a quick lead. The full challenge update will be posted outside the classrooms this week - check to see where your class is!! And remember, it is based on the amount earned for Meadows so choose those high rebate cards whenever possible. Questions on getting or using SCRIP? Contact Carol at cgerken@gmail.com. Thanks and Happy Shopping!!

Pier to Pier Friendship Walk Thanks!
pier to pier walk logo Cheers to the Meadows Family!

Thank you to all the Meadows Participants that came out for the Pier-to-Pier Friendship Walk. It was a beautiful day and a great event! The number of participants almost doubled from last year at over 7000. The money made on this event will have significant impact on the Friendship Circle programs and all of the South Bay Education Foundations. Suyen Pell, our volunteer representative, did a great job rallying the Meadows community. We were out in force! Thanks Suyen!
