Grades of Green: Tip #1 | |
Recycling Old/Used Batteries, Cell Phones & Ink Cartridges
Did you know that when batteries and electronics go into our landfills from your trash can, heavy metals like cadmium and mercury have the potential to leach slowly into the soil, groundwater and surface water? We make it easy for you to safely recycle these items: just put them in the bins under the counter in the Meadows office and our Grades of Green volunteers will recycle them properly. Even better, we send the old cell phones and used ink cartridges to eScrip, so it's an easy fundraiser for the Meadows PTA as well!
