OCTOBER 2012
A Priority for Oakville Neighbourhoods

Priority Neighbourhoods Project On September 29, we launched the Priority Neighbourhoods Project - an innovative, new approach to community development and engagement that will create free, accessible neighbourhood-based programs and services in four underserved communities in Oakville.

We heard from our community that there are areas in Oakville where it is challenging for children, teens and young adults to access the resources they need.

Thanks to a three-year $225,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation we have the initial funding to get the project started.

Over the next four years, we'll work with the priority neighbourhood residents, community leaders and our partners to identify each neighbourhood's challenges and opportunities. Then together we'll develop and launch free programs in satellite locations that would most benefit the children, teens and young adults in that neighbourhood. Visit Priority Neighbourhoods Project for more information.

Programs at Oak Park start October 15

As you may know, there was a construction delay at the  Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre which caused us to postpone the  start of our programs at that location. To show our appreciation for your patience during the delay, we're happy to let you know we've extended your program sessions by one week at no additional cost.

Visit our updated Oak Park Schedule to confirm your new program start date. Plus, if you're still interested in taking one of our programs at Oak Park, we still have space in some sessions. Register today!
