JUNE 2012
Extending our Reach in Oakville
Our new Strategic Plan 2012-2016
Since we launched our new Strategic Plan at our AGM on June 4, there has lots of interest in our plans to Extend our Reach to more people in Oakville.
Strategic Plan 2012-2016
In developing the plan we consulted the  community and what we heard was that the YMCA is needed in more areas of our town, especially North Oakville.

Under our new strategic plan we will expend our reach by:
  • Expanding programs and services in North Oakville
  • Developing new programs and services in low-income and under-served neighbourhoods, and
  • Exploring opportunities for new facility development in North Oakville.
By reaching out to more neighbourhoods in Oakville, we'll impact more children and families, build a healthier community. Visit Strategic Plan 2012-2016 to read more about our new strategic plan.
YMCA Healthy Kids Day
bigger and better than ever!
On Sunday, June 3, we welcomed 959 children and families to our YMCA to celebrate  YMCA Healthy Kids Day and learn more about the healthy growth and development of children everywhere.

Families had a fun-filled day taking part in the many activities, events and connecting with many great community exhibitors.

That evening, we also hosted our very first Summer Youth Fest, which saw many of Oakville's youth come out to enjoy some great music by local youth Sydney Delong, Lexi Tellings and Massive Tank Studios.

A big thank you to all of our community partners, sponsors and the Oakville community for making this event so successful! Together, we can continue to raise awareness of the importance of an active, healthy lifestyle for children and families.
