Building Healthy Communities
| January is a time when many people commit to living better. Whether it's losing weight, improving health, spending more time with family, learning a new skill or helping others, the YMCA can help you achieve your goals. Here are just a few ways we can help:
Improve your health Pick up a copy of the Winter-Spring Program Schedule and join a fitness class.
Visit our Wellness Centre and speak to a Wellness Coach to get advice and success strategies. Ask about our Member Connect Program which can help you get back into a fitness routine or create a new program that will fit your lifestyle and schedule!
Join CBC's Live Right Now and help make Oakville the Live Right Now Capital of Canada! Watch for more information coming soon!
Add to your routine. Check out our new Registered Program guide where you'll find all the programs we offer from January to September 2012 that require additional registration.
Spend more time with family and friends
Schedule quality time with family and friends, and commit to an activity that you can do together. Need some ideas for fun things you can do? How about: - Go for a walk with your spouse or kids or meet your friends for coffee and a catch-up at the park.
- Swim at the Y - Join us for a drop-in swim on the weekend.
- Get fit together - We also have programs and activities for the whole family like: Family Zumba and Family Yoga, a climbing centre, a gym for shooting hoops and much more. After your workout, unwind in our cafe area.
Learn a new skill
Help others
Donate Together we can build a healthy, strong community. Your donation to the YMCA Strong Kids campaign helps us provide more YMCA experiences to children, youth and adults that have a lifetime of impact.
Volunteer Every day at the YMCA, we have hundreds of volunteers who assist us with providing important programs and services to our community. Why not visit the Y today to see how you can help? A Magical Christmas
|
Family Giving Campaign Our annual Family Giving Campaign helped 25 of our families in need this past Christmas! These YMCA financially-assisted families were paired with individuals, families or companies who "adopted" them for the holiday season.
We are so proud to be able to help these families, but it's when we receive comments from recipients, that we can see how we are strengthening our community -- one person, one story at a time. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this program! Read more...
