DISABILITY MENTORING DAY - OCTOBER 19, 2011

National Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) promotes career development for students and job seekers with disabilities through job shadowing and hands-on career exploration.

Plans are currently being made for this year's Disability Mentoring Day. This one day morning event is ideal for students or job seekers who are interested in shadowing a professional in order to gain insight into career or job opportunities. It is free and open to students and job seekers (18 or over) with a disability.

For the past six years community partners have included Norton Hospital, ResCare, Citi Cards, Home Depot and many more. To learn more about all of our partners and the benefits for both mentors and mentees, visit our website at www.calky.org/events. If you would like to be matched with a mentor at one of our participating sites, call Keith at 502-589-6620.

DMD is an event coordinated nationally by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). CAL has been the Louisville Coordinator of DMD for the past six years.
