Homecoming and More!

Plan to bring the whole family, young and old, to Torpy Field and Depew Park this Saturday for a fun-filled day.

Sports Carnival

Starting at 9 a.m. and running until noon, the Peekskill Athletic Department under Lou Panzanaro is hosting the second Sports Carnival on Torpy Field. Try your hand at all kinds of contests: batting, golfing, lacrosse and football throws, basketball shots -- there are many offerings for the whole family and just about all are free! The Athletic Department will also be offering you the chance to walk down memory lane by buying old-style uniforms -- proceeds benefit the Jason Paige Wellness and Fitness Center planned for PHS next year.

Homecoming Game

Starting at 1:30 p.m., Coach Frank Bucci and the Red Devils take on Pelham in Depew Park. The players have been getting better and stronger every game and really appreciate fan support. Come out and cheer on your school!

Coffee with the Superintendent

If you haven't met new Superintendent Jim Willis yet, stop in to the Administration Building at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 22 for the traditional Coffee with the Superintendent. This is an excellent opportunity to raise any questions or concerns about the school district that may be on your mind. The Administration building is at 1031 Elm Street.

Spirit Week

Peekskill High School has been abuzz this week with the traditional preparations for Homecoming. The Student Council organized special days all week, culminating in Red and Blue Day/Spirit Day on Friday.  These students enjoyed Seventies Day.Seventies

Black Culture Club Raises Funds for Cancer Support

Breast Cancer
Jacobi Clarke, student; Shawna Robinson, BCC Advisor; and Mary Jane Decker, PHS Nurse, are shown with the Tree of Remembrance.
Support Connection, a nonprofit organization that counsels patients dealing with breast cancer and other cancers, will receive a generous donation thanks to the efforts this month of the Black Culture Club at Peekskilll High School. Students and staff have worked together to create a Tree of Remembrance in the PHS hallway, and the high school community has been supporting this cause by purchasing leaves in memory of or on behalf of a loved one. Donations can still be made by visiting www.supportconnection.org. Mention the PHS Black Culture Club when you give.
