Public Hearing on 2011-2012 Budget

On Tuesday, May 3, the Peekskill City School District Board of Education will hold a public hearing on the 2011-2012 budget, starting at 7 p.m. The hearing will be held at the District Administration Building, 1031 Elm Street.  

The proposed budget amount of $72,013,090 for 2011-2012  represents a budget-to-budget increase of 1.46% and an estimated tax levy increase of 3.00%. This reflects the District's continued commitment to a strong academic program in the face of three years of reductions in State aid.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Lorenzo Licopoli will present the proposed budget and respond to questions. In addition, the School Board and Dr. Licopoli will discuss the future educational plan for the District. 

The Board Elections and Budget Vote will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, from 7 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The polling place is Peekskill High School.
