| Culpeper VA |
Dear Riders, Family and Friends,
Everyone had so much fun, plus the horses were good! They won all kinds of ribbons (&, more importantly, were very well ridden.) We were all lucky to have a tremendous familial support team, up to & including Quentin & Lizzie. Thank you one & all for the help, enthusiasm & support.
Thom had some items to share about the week:
We were complimented by several of the major VA trainers on what a fine group of horses & riders we brought to this show.
Particularly in August, aren't air-conditioned bathrooms & show restaurants nice? And our stalls were in a lovely neighborhood. We were stabled right next to Patty Stoval (the Patty Stoval who's a World Cup Champion.)
Although the Culpeper June Bug Lunging Clinic was canceled, we did hold Green-Headed Horse Fly Elimination through-out the week. Special mention goes to Jim Cain for sheer number of Outright Kills, Emma for Mounted Kills, Mary Copeland for Live Capture & Thom for Amount of Blood & the Memorial Burial Plot. Style points were evenly distributed.
Laura won the Darn the Torpedoes Full Speed Ahead award for showing Windy in a Lord of the Rings style thunder/lightning storm & then finishing in a driving rainstorm. Way to go, girl! (A rider after my own heart.)
Did anyone notice that Emma bought one of the judge lunch on the weekend? Planning for future classes, Emma? (Hope you got his order right!)
Thanks so much for making this a fun & memorable show, everyone! Thom
Sincerely, The Staff at MacNair's Country Acres

Anna thought Culpeper was the prettiest horse show facility ("beautiful jumps!") she's ever been to & loved the history of the area. Didn't mind pizza by the pool one night, either. "We had a wonderful time!"

Mary Copeland thought this show was "so much fun." Also fun was everyone getting to know each other & having her dad present for part of the show. (She thinks all the parents may have learned more about horses this week.) One of her favorite things was learning about the NRP from Thom. (You'll have to ask Mary Copeland or Thom if you want to know what that means.)
